Description

You will serve as the lead technical product partner and subject matter expert for the company's global absence and time-tracking setup in Workday, with the autonomy to set the domain strategy and handle complex employment law across EMEA and other regions.

The role is urgent. You will fix legacy setup problems, keep the setup compliant with SOX, and support the company's global expansion. Over time the team is moving toward a regionally aligned product team within People Operations, so you will also drive ongoing process improvements, enable regional features, and provide broader Workday support to keep the system scalable, secure and legally sound.

The company is a global technology business that helps people send, spend and manage money across borders, and the People Technology team builds the systems behind its workforce processes.

Responsibilities

  • Design and configure Workday Time Tracking and Absence Management, including multi-country statutory leave plans, time entry validation and holiday rules.
  • Own the technical health, reliability and compliance of the time and absence domain end to end, meeting SOX, audit and local labour law requirements, and manage risk and technical debt.
  • Work as a product partner to senior regional People Operations leaders, mainly in EMEA, turning legal requirements into workable Workday functionality and advising on what the system can do.
  • Lead resolution of complex technical escalations, find root causes in the current absence setup, and build lasting fixes rather than quick patches.
  • Set the long-term technical roadmap for time and absence in line with the company's global expansion, and mentor and escalate to standard contributors (IC2s) in the regional operating model.

Requirements

  • Senior-level depth in Workday Time Tracking and Absence Management configuration, including building complex multi-country statutory leave plans and time entry rules from scratch.
  • Proven experience managing SOX controls, internal audits and significant legislative change within an HRIS environment.
  • Ability to own a domain strategy independently, make high-level architecture decisions and work as a peer of senior business leaders.
  • Analytical skill in turning dense legal language and local operational detail into clear, effective system logic.
  • An egoless approach, a strong focus on data security and confidentiality, and a commitment to thorough testing and documentation.
  • Workday Core HCM, Time Tracking or Absence Management certification.
  • Experience across other Workday modules, such as Payroll integrations and Compensation, to support a broader People Operations product model.
  • Experience implementing Workday for new country launches in a hyper-growth setting.

Conditions

The team applies engineering practice to People Technology, valuing documentation, peer review and scalable architecture, and it empowers people to make decisions and own outcomes.

The role is based in Tallinn, Estonia.

Applications close on 14 November at end of day, and CVs must be in English.

The company is committed to equal opportunity and welcomes applicants from all backgrounds.
