Description

The company applies agentic AI, an enterprise platform and legal and professional services expertise to change how knowledge work is done in those fields.

The company has strong product-market fit, backing from well-regarded investors, and is growing quickly in a category it is helping define.

The team moves fast, takes ownership of its work, stays close to customers and pushes for high standards. Its values are Decisiveness, Simplicity, and Job's Not Finished.

This role supports the company's growing global workforce by owning the systems and workflows that serve it. The main focus is Workday HCM, with Benefits and the Applicant Tracking System Ashby as areas where you are the go-to systems expert.

You will work on your own from requirements through deployment, and shape stakeholders toward lasting, scalable solutions. Partners include People Operations, Benefits, Recruiting, Payroll, Finance, Legal and Corporate IT.

Responsibilities

  • Configure, maintain and improve Workday HCM, covering complex business processes, condition rules, approval routing, notifications, security assignments and worker lifecycle workflows.
  • Design solutions from start to finish, turning unclear business needs into system changes, judging their effect on HCM, Benefits, Payroll, reporting, integrations and employee experience, and taking key decisions to stakeholders.
  • Own Benefits systems as the subject-matter expert: plan setup, eligibility rules, enrollment workflows, vendor integrations, annual enrollment readiness, issue fixes and process improvements.
  • Support recruiting systems and their administration, including integrations and data quality.
  • Advise senior stakeholders on what systems can do, new features, configuration tradeoffs, and ways to simplify or automate manual work, explaining complex topics clearly.
  • Set the testing strategy for Workday, Benefits, Ashby and connected systems, covering workflow, regression, release and user acceptance testing.
  • Investigate unusual or complex system and data problems by tracing configuration, rules, integrations and dependencies upstream and downstream. Find root causes and build lasting fixes, not temporary workarounds.
  • Lead enhancement projects from discovery to deployment with the teams involved, gathering requirements, setting out options and prioritizing work.
  • Set the standard for configuration documentation, test plans, process maps, release notes and operating procedures that help governance and self-service.
  • Monitor system health and data integrity, support audits and reconciliations, and apply security and data governance practices to employee and candidate data.
  • Lead Workday and vendor release management: review new functionality, assess impact, coordinate testing and drive adoption decisions.
  • Be a resource for peers and stakeholders on hard systems questions, sharing knowledge and best practices across the team.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of hands-on experience configuring and supporting Workday, an HRIS or similar enterprise business systems.
  • Deep experience with Workday HCM configuration and the Business Process Framework, including condition rules, approval routing, notifications, security and workflow design.
  • Proven record of designing and delivering complex workflows across systems alone, and knowing when a decision needs wider review.
  • A track record of delivering projects that improved workflows, cut manual effort, or introduced new tools or automation.
  • Strong experience turning vague requirements into system solutions, often with incomplete information, and explaining tradeoffs to non-technical and senior audiences.
  • Experience planning and running testing, including regression, UAT, defect triage, data validation and production change management.
  • Solid working knowledge of Benefits administration or Benefits systems, including eligibility, enrollment, plan configuration, vendor feeds and annual enrollment.
  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills, able to find root causes across systems, processes, integrations and data.
  • Excellent communication, documentation and stakeholder management skills, adjusting your style to each audience.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities on your own, make well-reasoned recommendations, and work effectively in a fast-moving, high-growth setting.
  • Preferred: Workday certification or Workday Pro certification in HCM, Benefits or a related area.
  • Preferred: Experience with Workday integrations, EIBs, reports, calculated fields or APIs.
  • Preferred: Experience supporting recruiting system integrations with Workday or other people systems.
  • Preferred: Experience with Workday Benefits, Absence, Compensation, Payroll or Recruiting-related processes.
  • Preferred: Experience supporting global HR systems, multiple worker populations or international expansion.
  • Preferred: Experience leading the evaluation and adoption of new Workday or HR technology features.
  • Preferred: Experience with security configuration, role-based access, audit readiness or data governance.
  • Preferred: Experience mentoring or guiding other systems analysts or administrators.
  • Preferred: Experience working at a high-growth technology company.
