Senior Medical Software Engineer - Complaint Handling

Description

The team sits in Post Market Quality and checks the quality and performance of digital solutions used in hospital and laboratory information systems, medical data networks, middleware, data communication, apps and algorithms.

The role is part of a Digital Solutions group that works across teams with both on-premise and cloud-based software, using a range of programming languages and recent technologies.

The work is investigative: you dig into code and logs to find why software fails. You focus on root cause analysis and do not write the final fixes. The team works in an Agile setup and values new ideas and suggestions for continuous improvement.

Senior experts support you as you build knowledge of both modern IT and medical compliance frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Handle complaints, safety issues and product inquiries for software products, whether on premise, cloud, mobile or apps.
• Run standard cases from start to finish on your own, and work with senior colleagues on complex or critical safety issues.
• When a case cannot be closed directly, own the handover to the development department.
• Act as the technical expert on a case. Read and interpret source code to find the root cause of software malfunctions.
• Cite the internal the company process with confidence when explaining decisions, and consult senior experts on technical and process questions when needed.
• Share essential quality-related information in good time with stakeholders, working closely with senior colleagues on this and on supporting initiatives.
• Apply automation and data analytics to improve case handling and to monitor product performance data proactively.

Requirements

• A degree in computer science or a related IT field.
• Preferably 2+ years of experience in software engineering or IT support.
• Solid IT skills, in particular a strong ability to navigate and read source code in several languages, and a willingness to learn complex system dependencies quickly.
• Strong written and spoken English.
• Automation and data analytics experience is a plus.

Conditions

The primary location is Sant Cugat del Vallès. Pay details are based on that location. For other locations where the role may be offered, pay details will be shared later in the hiring process.
