Description

The role is the Global Head of Product Lifecycle and Launch Architecture for Diagnostics, also known internally as Global Head of Supply Chain Science, Technology and Launch. It sits in the Global Supply Chain division and works across R&D, Manufacturing, Quality, Commercial and Regulatory to align these groups and break down functional silos.

The team designs methods, sets global standards and integrates the end-to-end supply chain. It focuses on ongoing process improvement for quality and efficiency, and on multi-year planning and new technologies so the organization is ready for what comes next.

This is a mainly strategic position where you act as an architect and systems thinker shaping global supply chain strategy. The workload splits 50% launch and integration orchestration, 25% strategic architecture and 25% leadership and capability building. You will run high-level projects across regions and lead cross-functional teams through unclear, unstructured problems, turning operational difficulties into measurable business results.

The company is more than 100,000 employees strong and works in pharmaceuticals and diagnostics, with more than 26 million people treated with its medicines and over 30 billion tests run on its Diagnostics products.

The company is an Equal Opportunity Employer.

Responsibilities

  • Drive company-wide efficiency through Lean design, cost reduction and pilot-to-commercial scaling that affects commercial sales results.
  • Enforce global design standards and regulatory compliance, and act as the main strategic contact for global launch readiness.
  • Spend 60-80% of your time on multi-year strategic planning in the early Product Life Cycle (PLC), challenging existing practice and bringing in new technologies.
  • Lead and co-own the global supply chain strategy by setting policies, standardizing processes, establishing governance and defining physical product requirements.
  • Oversee large, complex integration projects covering end-to-end supply chain integration and new product commercialization across regions and divisions.
  • Negotiate and influence daily or weekly with leaders in Manufacturing, R&D and Finance, and with external logistics providers and manufacturing sites.
  • Resolve major conflicts between competing functional interests, such as weighing R&D speed against supply chain compliance, and regularly present investment and readiness cases to senior leadership.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Life Science, Engineering, Pharmacy or a related subject is required. A Ph.D. or MBA is highly preferred.
  • 10+ years of leadership experience in pharmaceuticals, diagnostics, healthcare or another highly regulated industry.
  • Hands-on experience across Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Procurement and Quality & Regulatory, with deep operational expertise.
  • Strong strategic decision-making, with deep knowledge of product development, life cycle management and the company Diagnostics product portfolio.
  • Transformational leadership that models the company Values, Creative Leadership and VACC principles, and coaches diverse global teams toward solution-focused results.

Conditions

The primary work location is Rotkreuz. Pay transparency details are given for that location, and compensation details for any other location where the role may be offered will be shared later in the hiring process.

The company is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
