Description

You will lead North America marketing for the Running and Training categories within the Sport Category team, reporting to the Teamhead Marketing, Sport Category.

You turn global and regional category direction, consumer insight, and business goals into seasonal plans that build performance credibility, make the brand relevant to consumers, and deliver commercial results.

You act as the category expert and the link between functions, so plans stay grounded in insight, have clear priorities, and show up consistently at every consumer touchpoint.

Success means insight-led seasonal plans, higher consumer relevance and performance credibility, priority launches and campaigns delivered on time and within budget, strong integration across teams, and useful post-campaign learning.

The company is a global sports brand that makes footwear, apparel, and accessories for athletes and everyday movers. The group operates in 120+ countries, has about 22,000 employees, and owns two other brands.

Responsibilities

  • Own day-to-day planning and execution for Run / Train across product storytelling, key launches, consumer experiences, specialty and wholesale needs, DTC priorities, communications, and media.
  • Lead annual and seasonal marketing planning that fits category strategy, consumer needs, launch timing, and commercial targets.
  • Turn global direction into North America plans, briefs, launch strategies, activation priorities, channel guidance, and success measures.
  • Build audience, insight, positioning, messaging, and product story frameworks that drive performance credibility and demand.
  • Run integrated go-to-market work for priority Run / Train franchises, campaigns, athletes, events, and seasonal moments.
  • Work with communications and influence, creative, media, social, DTC, visual experience, sports marketing, wholesale, and consumer journey teams so plans connect across earned, owned, paid, retail, experiential, partner, and community touchpoints.
  • Partner with the Head of Marketing, Run Specialty & Tech Reps to link specialty distribution, technical product education, field activation, performance credibility, and demand generation.
  • With wholesale and account marketing, turn Run / Train priorities into account plans, retail programs, specialty initiatives, sell-in tools, consumer events, and seasonal activations.
  • Track consumer behavior, athlete and fitness culture, marketplace shifts, competitor moves, and new opportunities, and turn them into recommendations.
  • Lead agencies and cross-functional workstreams by managing scope, timelines, deliverables, risks, and decisions, and keep the Teamhead informed.
  • Manage assigned budgets, KPI tracking, campaign recaps, and post-season learning, and use results to improve future plans and spend.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree in marketing, business, communications, sports management, or a related field is preferred.
  • 7+ years of experience in category, brand, product, or integrated marketing, or a related consumer marketing role.
  • Solid knowledge of Running and Training consumers, performance footwear and apparel, athlete and fitness culture, product storytelling, and marketplace dynamics.
  • A record of building and running integrated seasonal plans across digital, social, retail, experiential, communications, and commercial channels.
  • Experience leading complex cross-functional work, including agencies, budgets, timelines, and several workstreams at once.
  • Ability to influence stakeholders in marketing, product, merchandising, sales, retail, sports marketing, and global or regional teams.
  • Strong strategy, project leadership, communication, presentation, and executive-level storytelling skills.
  • Analytical skill to turn consumer, category, marketplace, and campaign data into clear actions and recommendations.

Conditions

The base pay range is $74,500 to $101,120, plus bonus and benefits.
