Description

The company builds AI-driven performance advertising and has been operating since 2013, when its founders, machine learning engineers, first built ad systems at some of the largest tech firms.

It runs two businesses on one shared AI system: an ads platform that helps mobile app marketers win and keep high-value users across the open web, and a retail media platform that lets retailers and marketplaces build ad revenue from their own sites.

The team works on hard AI advertising problems at a scale few companies reach.

This role focuses on external research and published content. The company's public claims are scrutinized by customers, competitors and analysts, so every number needs to hold up.

Responsibilities

  • Turn messy, complex datasets into one clear, sharp story for external research and thought leadership aimed at press, customers and industry audiences.
  • Check every first-party marketing claim, and every published number, before it goes to legal review. Defend a claim when challenged, or revise it when it does not hold.
  • Run research projects on your own once they are scoped, including working with outside partners and agencies, and decide when to involve others.
  • Bring industry context to the data, identifying which findings are interesting and defensible, not only which are technically correct.
  • Work closely with Legal and product marketing as a real thought partner, questioning assumptions and pressure-testing ideas.
  • Use AI tools to speed up analysis and content work, and catch and fix their errors before anything is published.

Requirements

  • Strong data storytelling, with a record of turning a messy dataset into one clear narrative for an outside audience.
  • A track record of producing rigorous, defensible research or thought leadership, and comfort working through legal review.
  • Hands-on experience in mobile, advertising or ad tech, with enough confidence to discuss the subject with industry experts, analysts and customers.
  • Intellectual honesty when your numbers are challenged, including the willingness to concede or revise a claim.
  • Experience running projects independently once scoped, including with external partners or agencies, and judging when to escalate.
  • Enough industry knowledge in mobile, advertising, ad tech or a related field to offer a view, not just process data.
  • A history of acting as a thought partner to cross-functional teams, asking hard questions and challenging assumptions.
  • Strong analytical skills: SQL, Python or R, and BI tools such as Looker or Tableau.
  • Clear written and verbal communication, and the confidence to work independently every day.
  • Bonus: experience with external research or consulting partners, or data partnerships.
  • Bonus: experience with claims substantiation or disclosure controls at a growing company.
  • Bonus: experience working alongside AI tools or agents for research and analysis, rather than doing the work manually.
  • Bonus: a background in journalism, consulting or research that involved turning data into a defensible public story.
