Description

About the company

Responsibilities

  • The company Direct Platform is one of our largest software businesses, serving a global client base of financial professionals across wealth management and asset management. Events are a core channel for how we build relationships, drive pipeline, and grow the business.
  • As Senior Manager, Events Marketing , you'll own the full event channel — from strategy and annual portfolio planning to day-to-day execution and performance measurement. You'll work closely with the Associate Director of Demand Generation and cross-functional partners across Sales, Marketing, and Product. You'll work alongside two event associates, each managing their own event portfolio, and share ideas and processes as a team.
  • What matters most is that you know how to run complex events well, work across stakeholders, and make smart tradeoffs under pressure.
  • This role is based in our Chicago office and requires working onsite 4 days per week.
  • What Success Looks Like
  • Success is measured by event portfolio performance — pipeline contribution, attendee engagement, customer relationship depth, and the efficiency and repeatability of how the team executes.
  • Partner with the Associate Director of Demand Generation to develop and evolve the event marketing strategy, annual event portfolio, investment priorities, and success metrics.
  • Own the planning, execution, and optimization of a diverse event portfolio — including hosted events, executive programs, third-party conferences, sponsorships, and hospitality experiences.
  • Collaborate closely with Sales, Campaign Marketing, Customer Marketing, Product Marketing, and Central Marketing teams to align event objectives, target audiences, messaging, follow-up plans, and business outcomes.
  • Establish scalable, repeatable event planning processes, tools, and best practices that improve execution quality, cross-functional visibility, and team efficiency.
  • Manage event budget planning, forecasting, and investment tracking — ensuring resources are allocated effectively and programs deliver measurable business value.
  • Monitor event performance and business impact using engagement metrics, pipeline contribution, attendee feedback, and post-event insights — and use those findings to inform future investment and optimization decisions.
  • Identify opportunities to improve attendee experiences and team productivity through personalization, automation, AI-enabled processes, and modern event technology.
  • Serve as the primary point of escalation for event execution challenges — balancing competing priorities and keeping delivery on track against organizational goals.
  • What You Bring
  • 5+ years of experience in B2B marketing, event marketing, field marketing, experiential marketing, or a related discipline.
  • Proven success planning and executing complex events that drive customer engagement, pipeline generation, and business growth.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple large-scale initiatives simultaneously.
  • Experience partnering with sales leaders and senior stakeholders to align event investments with business priorities.
  • Experience managing budgets, vendor relationships, and contract negotiations.
  • Experience leveraging automation, AI tools, or modern event technologies to improve planning, execution, and attendee experience.
  • A bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.
  • Why the company
  • A space to keep learning, stretching, and becoming. That's why we aim to create a workplace that supports your whole self, including your financial, personal, and family well-being. Because with the right people, place and purpose, there's no limit to what you can do.
