The company helps restaurant operators get growth capital and build stronger relationships with their guests, and gives consumers a better way to discover, experience and engage with restaurants. It sits across hospitality, fintech, consumer technology and loyalty.
The company is entering its next stage of growth, with room to improve how it acquires, engages, retains and monetizes customers and to build a well-known consumer brand.
Through the app, guests earn 20% back each time they dine, so everyday meals add up to rewards. The company works with thousands of restaurants and has millions of users across the country.
Partners range from celebrated restaurant groups such as José Andres and Michael Mina to neighborhood favorites. The aim is to help restaurants thrive and get guests dining out more often, with value on both sides.
The team is looking for a Director of Marketing who builds and runs programs, launches new initiatives, improves existing channels and sets up repeatable systems that produce measurable results.
Department: Marketing. Reports to: CRO.
Responsibilities
Lead the execution and optimization of marketing across the consumer lifecycle, subscriptions, performance marketing, brand and partner acquisition.
Work hands on, combining marketing judgment with analysis, technical know-how and a bias toward action.
Work with Marketing, Product, Engineering, Data, Sales and Operations to find growth opportunities, build solutions, launch campaigns, measure results and keep improving them.
This is not a role for strategy alone, agency management or overseeing a campaign calendar. You need to understand how modern marketing systems work, get into execution details and tie ideas to business outcomes.
Priority one: move lifecycle marketing away from calendar-driven, ad hoc campaigns toward automated, behavior-based engagement that lifts activation, frequency, retention and lifetime value.
Priority two: launch and scale consumer subscriptions by building the go-to-market, acquisition, onboarding, engagement and retention programs a successful subscription business needs.
Priority three: bring brand storytelling into restaurant acquisition, shifting it from transaction-focused messaging to differentiated positioning and creative that builds trust while still improving commercial performance.
Keep looking for ways to improve marketing efficiency, customer experience and growth beyond these priorities.
Build the lifecycle engine: audit current communications, journeys, segmentation and engagement results, then build automated journeys from onboarding through reactivation.
Trigger personalized messages using behavior, transaction history, preferences and predictive signals, and improve segmentation and orchestration in Braze and Snowflake.
Create testing frameworks for messaging, creative, timing, offers and channels, and use AI and automated agents for personalization, execution, reporting and optimization.
Set up performance dashboards and keep improving conversion, engagement, purchase frequency and customer lifetime value, so the program drives revenue without a manual campaign build each time.
Subscriptions: own the marketing behind the launch and growth, working with Product, Finance, Data and Engineering on the go-to-market plan and positioning, messaging, creative and customer experiences.
Subscriptions: build acquisition across existing users, paid channels, referrals, restaurant partnerships and owned media, and create conversion journeys that move current customers into paid plans.
Subscriptions: test pricing presentation, promotions, trial structures, messaging and conversion flows with Product, and monitor acquisition cost, conversion, activation, churn, retention and lifetime value.
B2B: evaluate current paid acquisition campaigns, messaging, creative, audiences and funnel performance, and build stories explaining why restaurants partner, beyond the immediate financial deal.
B2B: work with Sales and Business Development to understand restaurant decision-making, objections and buying motives, and test transactional, educational and brand-led messaging in structured experiments.
B2B: build reusable content for paid channels, landing pages, email, sales enablement and partner communications, and measure lead quality, acquisition efficiency, conversion and partner engagement.
Consumer growth: improve acquisition, activation, engagement and retention, and run campaigns across paid, organic, referral, partnership and owned channels.
Consumer growth: analyze behavior, funnel and cohort data, run experiments on audiences, offers, creative, messaging and conversion, and reduce friction in the app and purchase flow with Product.
Consumer growth: find ways to use the restaurant network as an acquisition and engagement channel, direct budget to the initiatives with the strongest incremental impact, and own customer acquisition cost, conversion, frequency, retention and lifetime value.
Systems: cut manual marketing work, automate repetitive tasks, and use Braze, Snowflake, AI tools and other technology to improve execution and decisions.
Systems: work with Engineering and Data to make customer data easier to access and use, and build reusable campaign frameworks, audience segments, dashboards and experimentation processes.
Execution: take initiatives from concept through optimization, set owners, timelines, deliverables and success metrics, and lead and develop marketing team members while staying involved in execution.
Execution: remove blockers with cross-functional partners, manage agencies, creative resources, vendors and marketing technology partners where needed, and set operating rhythms for planning, experiments and performance reviews.
Execution: balance longer-term improvements with immediate commercial priorities, and keep clear visibility into what works, what does not and where to focus next.
