This role leads lifecycle programs that drive first-time activation, repeat use and long-term retention, mainly through email and CRM. You set the strategy, run the work and measure results, using data, segments and behavioral triggers to send timely, relevant messages across the customer journey.

You work with product, content, sales, customer success and analytics so that communications are personal, useful and tied to business and platform goals.

Responsibilities

  • Build and manage triggered campaigns based on customer behavior and segments.
  • Work with product and customer success to find key journey moments and gaps in engagement.
  • Own campaign planning, testing and optimization, from the initial idea through to analysis.
  • Run the email program as a lifecycle channel and test new channels, often with the Performance Marketing team.
  • Design audience segments based on buyer needs, engagement levels and platform use.
  • Set up and improve behavioral triggers that create useful touchpoints and reduce drop-off.
  • Work with content, design and operations teams to keep execution high quality.
  • Define KPIs and report on lifecycle and retention, including open rate, CTR, conversion, repeat order rate, churn reduction and active buyers.
  • Keep building your understanding of customer behavior, preferences and needs.
  • Test subject lines, timing, sequencing, content and creative on an ongoing basis.
  • Turn insights into recommendations for the product roadmap and customer messaging.
  • Support product on feature adoption, in-platform engagement, onboarding and ongoing education.
  • Align messaging and campaign sequencing with content and engagement marketing.
  • Work with sales and customer success to spot chances for proactive outreach and account nurturing.
  • Work with growth and analytics on dashboards and new lifecycle levers.

Requirements

  • At least 6 years in lifecycle, CRM or retention marketing. B2B, SaaS or marketplace experience is preferred.
  • Hands-on experience with marketing automation and CRM platforms.
  • HubSpot and Salesforce experience is preferred.
  • Experience using AI-powered tools to implement and improve marketing strategies.
  • Strong grasp of segmentation strategy, user behavior modeling and trigger-based automation.
  • Skilled at analyzing campaign performance and refining messaging and delivery.
  • Proficient in the Google suite, such as Sheets and Slides.
  • Comfortable collaborating across product, sales, content and technical teams.
  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, business or a related field. An advanced degree is preferred.
