Senior Java Developer (Active TS/SCI with Poly Required - (SIGN-ON BONUS UP TO $30,000)

Description

The company is a global technology and professional services firm with about 26,000 staff in more than 50 countries. It delivers technology and mission services to U.S. government, defense and intelligence agencies, with work in AI, cloud, cyber and software development.

The team builds mission-critical software that supports national security work. The role is a senior Java position on cloud-native applications, in an Agile environment, with a focus on complex backend problems and scalable microservices.

Responsibilities

• Design, build and maintain scalable microservices in Java and Kotlin.
• Build high-throughput backend systems and APIs.
• Ship and run services on AWS using Docker and Kubernetes.
• Find and fix problems in distributed systems and improve their performance.
• Help shape architecture, CI/CD pipelines and engineering practices.
• Work with Agile teams to deliver solutions that support the mission.
• Tools and stack: Java 21, Kotlin, Spring Boot, Spring Cloud and Spring Data; AWS, Docker, Kubernetes and Linux; Kafka, Cassandra and DynamoDB; GitLab CI/CD, Maven, Node.js, SonarQube, IntelliJ, VSCode and ReactJS.

Requirements

• You have a bachelor's degree in a technical field.
• You have 5+ years of software development experience, including 4+ years of Java development.
• You have experience with microservices, Spring, Docker and Kubernetes.
• You understand how to design scalable backend architecture.
• You have experience with Agile software development, Kubernetes, native apps and Spring Boot.
• You hold an active TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph.
• You have 5+ years of related experience.
• No certifications are required.
• Preferred: You have experience leading Agile development teams.
• Preferred: You have mentoring or technical leadership experience.
• Preferred: You have Linux experience.

Conditions

The position is onsite in Annapolis Junction, MD, USA, and requires 40 hours per week with no travel.

U.S. citizenship is required.

The role requires a Top Secret SCI clearance with a polygraph, and you must currently hold it or be able to obtain it.

The likely salary range is $164,382 to $207,000. This is not a guarantee, and pay depends on experience, location and possibly contract terms, so it may fall outside this range.
