Senior IBM Master Data Management (MDM) & Integration Developer

Description

The company needs a senior developer to support, maintain and improve enterprise master data management systems, including the Master Person Index (MPI), the Michigan Index Data Stewardship Portal (MIDSP) and Symmetry applications.

The core stack is IBM InfoSphere MDM Standard Edition (Virtual MDM) v14.x, Java/J2EE, Apache Kafka and enterprise application integration.

The role also helps the business close data gaps by analyzing data and supporting digital transformation initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Keep IBM MDM applications and their integrations running, and build enhancements to them.
• Handle client tickets, incidents and production issues.
• Prepare top-level documents that set out functional and technical requirements.
• Work in Linux/Unix environments and write PowerShell and Bash scripts.
• Manage code repositories in Git and GitHub.
• Work with DBAs to write and run SQL scripts.
• Produce the monthly reports for MDM applications.
• Create and deploy certificates on Windows and Linux systems.
• Liaise with infrastructure, server and network teams.
• Take part in every stage of the software development life cycle (SDLC).
• Build prototypes, mockups, flowcharts and screen layouts.
• Plan and carry out tests, including test plans, test cases, UAT and post-implementation testing.
• Log and follow defects, incidents and change requests (RFCs).
• Keep application documentation current and support production and non-production environments.
• Help with enterprise architecture assessments, hosting documents and firewall requirements.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience building enterprise software.
• Hands-on experience with IBM InfoSphere MDM v14.x Standard Edition (Virtual MDM).
• Experience with MDM data models, entities, transactions, batch processing, configuration, customization and troubleshooting.
• Hands-on experience with Apache Kafka.
• Preferred / Desired Skills
• 8+ years of Java/J2EE development, including Java, JSP, REST and SOAP services.
• 5+ years of Linux/Unix work, covering command-line operations, log analysis and troubleshooting.
• Kafka topic setup, producers, consumers, message flow troubleshooting, Zookeeper and KRaft concepts.
• Experience with the Strimzi Operator.
• Batch processing with WildFly and Kafka.
• Experience deploying and supporting applications on WildFly.
• Strong SQL skills in Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server.
• Bash scripting and CRON job scheduling.
• Flowable experience is a plus.
• CI/CD experience with Azure DevOps, Azure Git Repos or similar tools.
• Experience with cloud and OpenShift Container Platform (OCP) environments.
• Familiarity with AWS and/or Azure.
• Exposure to Kubernetes and OpenShift.
• Experience with ELK / Elastic Stack for application log monitoring and troubleshooting.
• Healthcare domain experience is preferred.
• Ability to independently support and maintain complex, mission-critical enterprise applications.
