Senior Full-Stack Product Engineer — React Native, Node.js, Next.js (Clone)

Description

The company is building a consumer AI app that helps people make funny, highly shareable content for their friends, and it is growing fast.

The team wants a mid-level engineer who wants real input into the product, not just a queue of tickets. You would work directly with the founder, own major parts of the product, and help decide what gets built as well as how.

It is a high-autonomy role on a small team. You would move quickly, talk with users, and ship across mobile, web, and backend, seeing the effect of your work right away.

The stack includes React Native and Expo, Next.js and React, Node.js, Firebase and Firestore, OpenAI and other generative AI APIs, Stripe, Mixpanel, Vercel, Heroku, and cloud infrastructure. You do not need to know all of these already.

The product is consumer software for entertainment and staying connected with friends, not an internal dashboard or a thin layer over a generic AI model.

In your first few months, the team expects you to ship features that real customers use, take ownership of at least one major product area, fix something that was slowing the team down, learn the customers and product well, and become someone the team relies on for high-quality releases.

Responsibilities

• Take features from first idea through launch and later iteration.
• Build polished consumer experiences in React Native and Next.js.
• Write APIs, background jobs, and product logic in Node.js.
• Connect AI models for image, video, audio, and conversational features.
• Raise product quality, performance, and reliability, and speed up development.
• Make product and technical tradeoff decisions directly with the founder.
• Use customer feedback and product data to guide what you ship.
• Help set engineering standards as the team grows.

Requirements

• Have solid experience shipping real products in JavaScript or TypeScript.
• Have worked with React Native, React, Node.js, or similar tools.
• Turn an unclear product problem into a considered, dependable solution.
• Care about how well customers can use the product and how good it feels.
• Move quickly without adding needless complexity.
• Communicate clearly and raise issues early.
• Debug problems across mobile, frontend, backend, and third-party services.
• Want broad responsibility rather than a narrow engineering job.
• Learn quickly and take ownership across the whole stack.
• Judgment, ownership, and the quality of your work matter more to the team than credentials.
• Balance speed with craftsmanship: know when to keep things simple, when to dig deeper, and when to question an assumption.
• Start making progress without waiting for every requirement to be fully defined.
• Valuable but not required: experience with consumer products, mobile apps, generative AI, media processing, or early-stage startups.
