Description

You would join one of the largest industrial security teams, building technology that protects real devices around the world.

The Competence Center Crypto & Security at the company designs, builds and delivers end-to-end security, covering innovation, architecture and products deployed in the field.

This suits a security engineer who wants real impact on working security solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Specify and implement modern cryptographic algorithms across platforms, including post-quantum cryptography, and build secure software from functional requirements.
  • Design and specify software countermeasures against physical attacks such as Side-Channel Analysis (SCA) and Fault Injection (FI), then implement them.
  • Work with security architects and internal evaluation teams to improve those software countermeasures.
  • Own technical topics in the cryptographic domains through design, implementation, code reviews, architecture input and technical planning.
  • Work with OS and firmware teams so the cryptographic software integrates cleanly and securely into the final product.
  • Partner with the group's test and platform support engineers to keep product quality as high as possible.
  • Support product certification and security evaluations.

Requirements

  • A BSc, MSc or PhD in mathematics, cryptography, computer science, electrical or electronic engineering, information technology or a closely related field.
  • At least 5 years of relevant industry experience in cryptography and embedded security, or an equivalent mix of advanced study and relevant experience.
  • Strong understanding and hands-on implementation of cryptographic primitives such as ECC, RSA, AES and SHA-2/SHA-3.
  • Solid embedded software experience in C and Assembly, with good knowledge of microcontroller architectures such as ARM Cortex-M or RISC-V.
  • Knowledge of hardware and software countermeasures against side-channel and fault-injection attacks.
  • Experience with post-quantum cryptography is a plus.
  • Experience with Rust is a plus.
  • Strong debugging and analysis skills.
  • You are a proactive team player with a strong sense of ownership and a record of delivering results.

Conditions

Full-time position, graded in Employment Group V of the Austrian collective bargaining agreement (CBA) for white-collar and trade employees in commerce, trades and services (Kollektivvertrag für Angestellte Gewerbe und Handwerk und in der Dienstleistung).

Under Austria's Equal Treatment Act, the employment group of the applicable CBA must be stated.

Your individual experience and expectations will be taken into account during the application process.

Benefits

  • Work on modern cryptographic software, covering traditional and post-quantum cryptography, on ARM Cortex-M and RISC-V platforms.
  • Develop new countermeasures against Side-Channel Analysis (SCA) and Fault Injection (FI) attacks.
  • Own key technical topics in the cryptographic domains while working closely with cross-functional teams.
  • Collaborate with experienced security experts in architecture, evaluation, firmware and certification.
  • Help build solutions that protect applications in automotive, payment, identification, mobile, industrial and IoT markets.
  • Pay is competitive, benchmarked against the electronics and semiconductor industry.
  • Home office, flexible working hours and meal benefits.
