Description

The company is building Monetization Platform, a new team within Growth. The team builds the systems and experiences that determine how customers find, buy and pay for AI across all of the company's products.

Changes to plans and pricing alter what customers can do, so they need careful engineering around eligibility, entitlements, usage and subscriptions. The team turns that complexity into capabilities that product teams can build on and experiences customers can rely on.

The team works with Product, Design, Finance, Financial Engineering and Data Science to build a platform that evolves with the company's models and products. The technical direction of the team is still being set.

Responsibilities

  • Design and build shared pricing and packaging features, including plan setup, eligibility rules, entitlement integrations and usage allowances.
  • Build plan and usage experiences end to end, connecting polished interfaces to product APIs and backend services.
  • Prototype new commercial ideas and run experiments with Product, Finance and Data Science, then use the results to guide the next version.
  • Work with Financial Engineering on integrations that keep access and subscription state correct through plan changes, migrations, delayed updates and partial failures.
  • Build reusable components and configuration tools so teams can launch offers with less custom engineering and fewer dependencies.
  • Own production quality through migration planning, staged rollouts, testing, monitoring and recovery paths.
  • Shape the technical roadmap, explain the trade-offs between immediate launches and shared foundations, and grow other engineers through code and design reviews.

Requirements

  • You have set architectural direction and delivered significant multi-team projects while still contributing code.
  • You have depth in backend or distributed systems and can work across the APIs and interfaces that turn those systems into products.
  • You reason carefully about data models, lifecycle transitions, consistency, concurrency, and what happens when an operation fails or runs twice.
  • You have taken loosely defined customer or business problems through discovery, implementation and production operation.
  • You combine product judgment with experimentation and analysis, and you care whether customers understand and benefit from what you build.
  • You like establishing new capabilities: choosing an initial design, shipping something useful, and improving it as the problem becomes clearer.
  • You build alignment across disciplines, explain technical choices clearly, and help teammates take on more responsibility.
  • Experience with pricing, subscriptions, entitlements, usage-based products, billing integrations or growth platforms would be especially valuable.
  • Engineers whose experience with demanding product or platform systems prepares them to learn this domain are also welcome.

Conditions

The role is open to Staff+ and Senior engineers.

The company is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of protected characteristics.
