Description

The company is a global leader in thermal management, mission-critical building systems, energy efficiency and decarbonization. It helps customers use energy more productively, cut carbon emissions and run with the precision and resilience that data centers, healthcare, pharmaceuticals, advanced manufacturing and higher education need.

The company has been operating for more than 140 years and combines advanced technology, lifecycle services and a large field organization.

This role sits within the Applied Chiller business. The team builds and maintains cloud-based equipment selection platforms, which are backed by multi-million-dollar investments meant to give the organization a competitive edge. You will act as the link between business stakeholders and technology, turning complex needs into work the team can deliver, and you will own the product backlog for a cross-functional group of developers, QA staff, architects and technical leads.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a development team's backlog by splitting Features into User Stories with clear acceptance criteria, and keep items ready against the team's Definition of Ready.
  • Run backlog refinement and take part in PI planning, system demos and the team's Kanban cadences.
  • Talk with product management, engineering, sales and field users to learn current procedures, pain points, data inputs and outputs, and reporting needs.
  • Produce use cases, workflow diagrams and data models that define what the system will automate and what users will do.
  • Assess system capabilities and limits to decide whether a requested change is feasible, and work with architects and tech leads to compare solution options.
  • Check delivered work against acceptance criteria and demonstrate it to stakeholders.
  • Plan and coordinate dependencies with other teams, including Scrum teams, and with external resources.
  • Provide second-level support for equipment selection tools by triaging field issues and pushing them to resolution.
  • Keep status, risks and delivery metrics visible so the work stays transparent.
  • Use AI tools such as Microsoft Copilot and Claude to work faster, communicate more clearly and keep the team's work open.
  • Work with other analysts to improve backlog standards and team processes.

Requirements

  • Required: a bachelor's degree in business, engineering or a technical field, or equivalent experience, with a focus on computer science, mechanical engineering or a related discipline.
  • Required: 5+ years of experience in product management, business systems analysis or the software development lifecycle.
  • Required: experience with Azure DevOps or a comparable tool such as Jira.
  • Required: an understanding of web and cloud applications, APIs and data integration.
  • Preferred: HVAC or related industry experience, including equipment selection, performance rating or product certification.
  • Preferred: hands-on use of AI tools such as Microsoft Copilot and Claude to work more efficiently, communicate better and deliver work.
  • Preferred: a proven record of writing Features and User Stories with acceptance criteria on Agile teams, with exposure to SAFe and to both Kanban and Scrum teams.
  • Preferred: working knowledge of SQL and advanced Excel, plus Power BI or a similar reporting tool.

Conditions

The role is onsite at the Advanced Development & Engineering Center of Excellence in New Freedom, PA.

You must live within commuting distance of the facility or be willing to relocate. Several relocation packages are available.

The target salary range is $80,000 - $120,000. Final pay depends on education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities, internal equity and market data. The company may consider candidates whose experience goes beyond the range.

The company may use AI-assisted tools to help screen and evaluate candidates, but people make all final hiring decisions. Details are on the About Us page of the company's careers site.
