Description

The company makes camera-based technology and builds apps and digital services used daily by hundreds of millions of people worldwide. Its engineering teams focus on products that are fun, technically complex, and built with privacy in mind.

The ad client team designs, builds and scales video and display advertising experiences. It owns the whole mobile ad flow, from fetching and storing ads through insertion, rendering, tracking and measurement, and balances advertiser needs with how users respond to ads.

The company is moving from testing each feature in isolation toward owning quality across complete user experiences that span several teams. As AI takes over routine feature checks, this role focuses on the riskiest cross-team experiences, release readiness, and non-functional qualities such as accessibility, compatibility, privacy and compliance. You will help shape how a modern, high-leverage QE team works.

Responsibilities

  • Own quality for end-to-end ad client experiences that cross several teams, putting the riskiest user journeys ahead of exhaustive feature-by-feature coverage.
  • Define the test strategy for new, unreleased features and premium experiences, and drive it independently.
  • Build and maintain high-signal automation for critical paths and end-to-end flows, including device and OS compatibility, accessibility, privacy, compliance and localization, while helping feature developers own their feature-level coverage.
  • Diagnose and debug defects, perform root cause analysis, document findings, and work with other teams to triage your bugs and push for fixes.
  • Use AI to speed up development and remove blockers, applying sound judgment and domain expertise to make sure the results are high impact.
  • Own release readiness and quality sign-off for your feature area, and take part in on-call rotations.
  • Review code and test pull requests across platforms to raise the quality bar beyond your own work.
  • Work with adjacent and dependency teams to map cross-team dependencies and flag quality risk where features connect, agreeing on who covers what so the end-to-end experience holds together.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in object-oriented programming in Java, Kotlin, Swift, Objective-C or a similar language.
  • Experience with client or mobile test automation frameworks such as XCTest/XCUITest, Selenium WebDriver, Appium or Espresso.
  • Extensive experience defining, building and maintaining test coverage for mobile or client applications across many smartphones and tablets.
  • Deep understanding of quality-focused agile methods and how to apply them across the software development lifecycle.
  • Hands-on experience using AI in an engineering workflow, with good judgment about where AI helps and where humans must validate the output.
  • Working knowledge of standard QE and engineering tools, such as TestRail, GitHub, Jira, and debugging tools like Chrome DevTools, Charles Proxy or Postman.
  • Strong verbal and written communication, including the ability to whiteboard or diagram how a system behaves.
  • Demonstrated analytical thinking, reporting, leadership, customer focus and collaboration.
  • Minimum: a bachelor's degree in a relevant technical field such as computer science, or equivalent years of practical work experience.
  • Minimum: 3+ years of experience after a bachelor's degree in software testing or software development, or a master's degree in a technical field plus 2+ years of post-graduate testing or development experience, or a PhD in a relevant technical field.
  • Preferred: experience working in a distributed product team.
  • Preferred: experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS) and/or Google Cloud.
  • Preferred: experience with continuous integration and delivery systems.
