Quality Assurance Engineer

This role is a Quality Assurance Engineer position that checks the quality, reliability and performance of software used in clinical research and participant pre-screening.

You will work with cross-functional product teams to build and keep up manual and automated test strategies, with most automation work done in Playwright for end-to-end tests.

You find, record and help fix defects across the development lifecycle to help deliver compliant, dependable software that improves the user experience.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain automated end-to-end test suites in Playwright that cover both web and API surfaces.
• Run exploratory and structured manual tests on complex user flows, edge cases and regression scenarios.
• Connect automated tests to CI/CD pipelines so every pull request gets fast, dependable feedback.
• Work alongside engineers and designers while features are built, writing tests as the work happens rather than afterward.
• Triage and reproduce bugs, and document them with clear steps and context so they get fixed faster.
• Improve QA processes, standards and tooling across the engineering organization.
• Take part in test planning, sprint ceremonies and release readiness reviews.

Requirements

• Strong skill with Playwright, or a similar framework such as Cypress or Puppeteer, and the ability to write tests that are easy to maintain and reliable.
• Sound manual testing judgment, knowing when to automate and when hands-on exploration adds more value.
• Experience putting test suites into CI/CD pipelines such as GitHub Actions, CircleCI or similar.
• Working knowledge of testing APIs alongside UI flows, including REST and GraphQL endpoints.
• Clear written and spoken communication, enough to write a good bug report, explain a test strategy and argue for quality with engineers and product managers.
• Comfort in a fast-moving setting where priorities change and you must use sound judgment.
• A Bachelor's or Master's degree, or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years of software QA experience, with significant time spent on test automation.

Conditions

Remote position within the United States, with all work performed in a remote office setup.

Travel is under 10%, and occasional planned travel may be required.

The role requires the ability to use keyboards and other computer equipment.

Pay is $80,000 to $110,000 USD per year for full-time team members.

The company may require applicants to take a urinalysis drug test as part of the application process in Connecticut.
