Description

The role sits in quality assurance at the company's Portugal entity and covers the design organisation approval (DOA) processes.

You will help shape how aerostructures processes are defined, applied and improved, with a focus on design conformity and airframe non-quality.

This is a professional-level role in the Quality Assurance job family.

Responsibilities

  • Make sure guidelines, standards, procedures and norms are applied consistently.
  • Verify that business requirements and process maturity criteria are met in DOA processes, following corporate process management rules.
  • Set up a process quality function for programme processes.
  • Represent the company in the design conformity process.
  • Help the Process Management Team build process reference materials and raise process maturity.
  • Make sure each process is fully documented to company aerostructures requirements, can be used across the business, and has its risks and opportunities managed.
  • Serve as the quality contact for the Process Management Team.
  • Apply quality methods such as PPS, 9S, Six Sigma, Pareto, Ishikawa, FMEA, Five-Why and benchmarking.
  • Check that the services the DOA provides for its covered process are correct and complete.
  • Work with many stakeholders to uphold design conformity, quality standards and aircraft configuration standards.
  • Define and adapt quality measures, reports and analysis for airframe non-quality items, reusing lessons from earlier programmes.
  • Advise on quality processes and propose solutions and improvements.
  • Act as the quality focal point for site engineering.
  • Find ways to prevent DQN, modification and non-quality issues.

Requirements

  • A diploma or master's degree in aeronautical or aerospace engineering, mechanical engineering, or an equivalent qualification.
  • Several years of professional experience in quality management, DOA management and/or process management.
  • Solid experience with ISO 9100, 9001 and 9004 quality management systems.
  • An analytical and systematic way of working.
  • Project management skills, including an understanding of project methodology and a structured, organised approach.
  • Fast, accurate data handling, reliability, resilience and assertiveness.
  • Team and communication skills.
  • Careful, accurate work.
  • Business-fluent English.
  • Experience with MS Office and G Suite.
  • Willingness to travel.
  • Awareness of potential compliance risks and a commitment to acting with integrity.
  • Knowledge of Part 21 requirements (highly valued).
  • German (desirable).
