Description

You would join the EGM team in the Flight Physics department at the company's Blagnac site for a six-month internship in Flight & Space Physics. The company reports that 94.3% of students recommend it after their internship or work-study placement, and it holds the 2025 Happy Trainees label.

The team builds and maintains aircraft handling qualities, propulsion and performance models. These feed flight simulator training and the Aircraft Flight Manual. The team also develops and supports operational performance software that airlines use on the ground and in flight.

Your work would improve the in-house trajectory software, TRAJ. The aim is better aircraft performance with a lower ecological footprint, for both the current fleet and future aircraft. The tool checks whether an aircraft can operate safely in demanding settings such as mountain valleys, within certification and operating limits. As an intern you would be treated as a full team member, with real scope and responsibility.

Responsibilities

  • Improve the trajectory calculation algorithms so they follow SID (Standard Instrument Departure) and STAR (Standard Terminal Arrival Route) procedures.
  • Analyse how SID and EOSID (Engine Out SID) trajectories separate and how that separation affects the rest of the flight.
  • Study how to integrate RNP AR (Required Navigation Performance Authorization Required) to improve take-off and approach trajectories.
  • Talk with aircraft performance engineers, flight operations engineers and avionics specialists to understand their needs and constraints.

Requirements

  • You are in the final year of an engineering degree or an equivalent program in the aeronautics sector.
  • You have knowledge of flight mechanics.
  • You have some first experience programming. Python or C is a plus.
  • You are interested in flight operations.
  • You are open-minded, eager to learn and want to work in a multidisciplinary team.
  • English is mandatory.
  • French is recommended.

Conditions

The internship runs six months, with a start between February and April 2027, to be discussed.

The contract is an internship, and the role is based in Blagnac.

You should be aware of possible compliance risks and act with integrity.

The company welcomes applications from all backgrounds and treats equal opportunity as a commitment.

Benefits

  • The company supports flexible working arrangements where possible.
