  • Lead projects from kickoff through handover
  • Update schedules, risks, and action items every week
  • Keep engineering, construction, and functional teams aligned
  • Manage vendors and contractors, including deliveries and open items
  • Catch risks early and bring problems to leadership sooner, with options ready
  • Put safety first and confirm the work meets safety and quality standards
  • Give leaders who are not engineers plain-language status using shared PM standards

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business, Operations Management, or a related field, or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of project management in shipbuilding, heavy industry, construction, defense, or a similar complex setting, depending on level
  • Track record of delivering projects on time and within budget
  • Experience working with vendors, contractors, and suppliers
  • Strong communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to drive results across teams without direct authority
  • Working knowledge of tools such as Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, Smartsheet, or Jira
  • Comfortable adapting to changing priorities in a quick-moving environment
  • Willing to work on site and travel as needed
  • Preferred: experience in a shipyard, naval, or maritime setting
  • Preferred: PMP or a similar certification
  • Take ownership of outcomes, not just status, and act without waiting for direction
  • Bring order to shifting conditions and stay clear and calm when delivering bad news
  • Hold a safety-first mindset
  • Physical: mostly seated desk work at a computer
  • Physical: occasional standing and walking in the office
  • Physical: use a keyboard, mouse, and office equipment by hand
  • Physical: read screens, documents, and reports
  • Physical: occasionally reach, bend, or stoop to reach file drawers, cabinets, or supplies
  • Physical: occasionally lift and carry up to 20 pounds, such as supplies or packages
