Description

The team leads delivery of power grid and energy infrastructure projects, from planning and engineering coordination through installation, commissioning and handover to the customer.

The projects support a sustainable energy future.

Job ID R0145153, posted 2026-09-29.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain the integrated schedule for engineering, procurement, manufacturing, FAT, transport and site work (installation, SAT, commissioning).
  • Track progress against contract milestones and payment dates, and raise deviations early.
  • Watch schedule risk on long-lead items such as core steel, copper, bushings and OLTC, and drive mitigation.
  • Match engineering, factory and site team capacity to the project timeline.
  • Be the single contact between design engineering, the customer's technical team and third-party consultants.
  • Handle submission, review and approval of GA drawings, single-line diagrams, nameplate data and calculation reports.
  • Assess the technical, cost and schedule effects of design or scope changes and take them through variation orders.
  • Plan and witness routine, type and special tests.
  • Make sure manufacturing follows the approved Inspection & Test Plan (ITP) and the quality checkpoints for core assembly, winding, drying, tanking and oil treatment.
  • Lead root-cause analysis and corrective actions for NCRs raised during manufacturing or testing.
  • Work with the supply chain team to buy critical parts: bushings, OLTC, cooling equipment, protection relays and transformer oil.
  • Organize heavy transport for large power transformers, including route surveys and permits.
  • Enforce site safety rules for high-voltage equipment, lifting, and confined-space or oil work.
  • Liaise with the customer's grid and substation team on switching, protection settings and energization.
  • Serve as the main technical contact for the client, running progress and technical review meetings.
  • Send senior management regular reports on project status, risk and financial performance.
  • Identify and mitigate technical, schedule, commercial and safety risks throughout execution.
  • Monitor the budget and forecast at completion, and control change-order costs against the baseline.
  • Compile and control the manufacturing record book (MRB), test certificates and as-built documentation.

Requirements

  • 5, 10 years in a similar role in the energy sector, ideally on power grids, high-voltage substations or power transformers.
  • A university degree in engineering or a related field.
  • Experience working with structured processes, procedures and operational workflows.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work both independently and in a team.
  • Strong organization and prioritization, the ability to meet demanding deadlines, and a high level of professionalism, accountability and attention to detail.
  • A good understanding of international commercial practices and project environments.
  • Advanced use of MS Office, including Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
  • Fluent English and Romanian, spoken and written.
  • Advantage: knowledge of SAP (MM, SD and Project modules).
