Description

The Installed Base (IB) Program Manager coordinates cross-functional work on products already on the market, keeping product, customer, quality, regulatory, service and business goals aligned across the full product lifecycle.

This role runs and governs changes and lifecycle work for the installed base, tracking risks, customer impact, quality and regulatory needs, service readiness and milestones through to closure.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the cross-functional program team and push agreed outcomes forward. As program manager, you run the core team, which works horizontally and makes decisions together.
  • For products already on the market, review how they perform, run the business operating routines, and manage programs against the lifecycle standard work that applies.
  • Organize the work on product changes, transfers, lifecycle updates and other actions that affect the installed base.
  • During transfers, make sure open product items and quality matters are identified and followed, including CAPA, investigations, nonconformances, concessions, deviations and holds.
  • Field actions belong to the Field Action Program Leader or an equivalent role, who starts, develops, deploys and verifies completion of actions across the installed population, including design transfer to manufacturing and service.
  • Drive timely cross-functional decisions, record issues and decisions, and keep Business Leadership and functional stakeholders aligned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, business, operations, quality or a related field. Equivalent relevant experience may also be considered.
  • Experience managing complex cross-functional programs or projects with many stakeholders and dependencies.
  • Experience with installed-base, service, field, product lifecycle or post-market programs.
  • Proven ability to lead without direct authority across engineering, quality, regulatory, service, manufacturing, supply chain and commercial teams.
  • Ability to work in a global, matrixed organization and handle several priorities under tight deadlines.
  • Desired: medical device, healthcare or other regulated-industry experience.
  • Desired: strong oral and written communication.
  • Desired: analytical problem solving that gets to the root of issues.
  • Desired: ability to document, plan, market and run programs.
  • Desired: established project management skills.
  • Desired: strong ownership, accountable for outcomes, closure and follow-through across the installed base.
  • Desired: execution discipline, turning decisions into actions with owners, dates, dependencies and measurable completion criteria.
  • Desired: QMS awareness, recognizing when work touches governed processes such as risk management, design change, CAPA, complaints, field actions and product holds.
  • Desired: a problem-solving mindset that tests facts, spots barriers early and builds lasting fixes instead of repeated firefighting.
