Description

The company runs a large, high-performing network of public charter schools. It is growing quickly in New York and expanding into Florida.

The Learning team is hiring a Program Manager, Learning Platforms & Systems to lead planning and delivery of the technology that supports the Learning Program.

You would be the business owner for a portfolio covering learning platforms, the Student Information System (SIS), AI tools, and other academic technology, working alongside the Technology group. The role is hands-on: you need to understand the work in depth, help drive decisions, manage stakeholders and dependencies, and own the outcome.

Responsibilities

  • Take major Learning technology projects from problem definition through build, launch, and stabilization.
  • Act as the business owner for learning platforms, the SIS, AI solutions, and other academic tools.
  • Turn Learning Program needs into business and system requirements that technical teams can build from, working with Technology.
  • Coordinate decisions among the Education Institute, Technology, Operations, and teams that work directly with schools.
  • Set and manage project plans, milestones, dependencies, risks, and launch readiness.
  • Build a working grasp of each platform and its workflows, so you can discuss both the business goal and the technical approach.
  • Spot weaknesses in current systems and processes, and push for changes that make the Learning Program simpler to run.
  • Work with Technology on design, development, testing, launch, and stabilization.
  • Prepare the business side for major system changes, including process updates, staff training, communications, and rollout plans.
  • Measure results using data and stakeholder feedback, and drive improvements after launch.

Requirements

  • 5, 7+ years in technology program management, product operations, business systems, implementation, or a similar field.
  • A track record of owning complex technology projects from requirements through launch.
  • Skill at turning business needs into clear requirements for technical teams.
  • Solid technical fluency, with the ability to quickly pick up platforms, integrations, data flows, and system dependencies.
  • Proven ability to lead work across technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Good problem-solving skills and the ability to make progress when things are unclear.
  • Clear written and spoken communication, including explaining technical topics to business audiences.
  • Ownership, sound judgment, and reliable follow-through.
  • Experience with education technology or large-scale enterprise systems is a plus.

Conditions

This is a hybrid role at the company's NYC Financial District office: on-site Tuesday through Thursday, remote on Monday and Friday.

Pay range is $100,000 - $125,000 USD. The exact offer may vary based on skills and experience.

This position is not bonus eligible.

The company is an equal opportunity employer and welcomes applicants from all backgrounds.

Benefits

  • Medical, dental, and vision coverage from your first day, with the company covering 82% of the core medical plan.
  • A free One Medical membership and confidential mental health support through EAP and Talkspace.
  • 403(b) retirement plan with a 3% employer match, employer HSA contributions of up to $2,400 a year, and employer-paid life and disability insurance.
  • Eligibility for Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF).
  • Plenty of paid time off, plus paid holidays and paid parental leave.
  • A $50 monthly cellphone stipend ($600 a year), pre-tax commuter benefits, backup family care, and performance-based earning incentives.
