Description

The company runs a large, fast-growing network of high-performing public charter schools in New York and is expanding into Florida.

As the AI Product Manager, you will work at the point where business strategy, school operations and emerging technology meet. You will drive AI innovation across a network of 57+ schools and own the full lifecycle of generative AI tools used by educators and in enterprise workflows.

You will work alongside engineers, data scientists, UX designers and organizational leadership. The goal is AI features that deliver measurable efficiency gains and better student outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the AI product lifecycle from early discovery and ROI-based prioritization through launch and ongoing optimization.
  • Turn stakeholder needs and high-level business goals into clear AI and ML feature requirements for engineering and data science.
  • Work with UX/UI and technical teams to design simple, seamless AI experiences that bring LLMs, RAG pipelines and ML outputs into daily work.
  • Define evaluation metrics and build experiments with data scientists to test model performance and feature impact.
  • Set up user feedback loops so models and AI capabilities improve based on how people actually use them.
  • Connect teams across the organization, weighing technical feasibility against business impact to ship valuable AI solutions on time.
  • Help shape the company's AI strategy by aligning product roadmaps with long-term enterprise goals.

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of product management experience, with AI/ML or data-driven platforms preferred, and a record of launching enterprise or customer-facing tools.
  • Hands-on experience building custom GPTs or basic AI applications.
  • Familiarity with LLM ecosystems such as OpenAI, Anthropic and Gemini, and with GenAI concepts including RAG, prompt engineering and vector databases.
  • Experience running Agile work in Jira and Confluence to manage backlogs, gather requirements and run sprints.
  • A proven ability to turn unclear business problems into concrete technical solutions and to take AI projects from concept to launch.
  • A bachelor's degree in computer science, statistics, mathematics, engineering, economics, applied mathematics, machine learning or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Strategic prioritization: you apply an ROI-first, data-driven approach to balance business impact, technical feasibility and roadmap decisions.
  • Cross-functional leadership: you act as the central link between business partners, educators and technical teams, and get stakeholders behind shared goals.
  • Growth mindset and curiosity: you break down complex problems, iterate based on user feedback and keep up with AI developments.
  • Ownership and execution: you hold a high bar for quality and take full accountability for hands-on product management in a fast-moving setting.

Conditions

This is a hybrid role based in the company's NYC Financial District office. You will work on site Tuesday through Thursday and remotely on Monday and Friday.

The salary range is $150,000 to $175,000 USD. Final pay may vary based on skills and experience.

The position is not eligible for a bonus.

The company is an equal opportunity employer and welcomes applications from people of all backgrounds.

Benefits

  • Medical, dental and vision coverage from your first day, with the company covering 82% of the core medical plan.
  • A free One Medical membership and confidential mental health support through EAP and Talkspace.
  • A 403(b) retirement plan with a 3% employer match, up to $2,400 per year in employer HSA contributions, and employer-paid life and disability insurance.
  • Eligibility for Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF).
  • Generous paid time off, paid holidays and paid parental leave.
  • A $50 monthly cell phone stipend ($600 per year), pre-tax commuter benefits, backup family care and performance-based earning incentives.
