Description

The company is building infrastructure for cross-border payment systems used by institutions, with the aim of moving money as freely as data, without limits from time zones, banking hours or legacy systems.

The team is growing quickly. Early members came from large banks, trading firms, and crypto and payments companies, and the company is backed by Accel, Lightspeed, NFX and other investors.

This is the company's first Program Manager hire. The role leads cross-functional planning and delivery of the most strategic initiatives, turning company priorities into launches that meet business goals. It is a high-visibility Ops role working directly with the executive team, and it involves leading through influence rather than authority while building the program management function as the company enters new markets.

A launch depends on licenses, regulatory approvals, banking and liquidity partners, compliance controls, settlement operations and go-to-market readiness, so it needs work from Product, R&D, Legal, Licensing, Compliance, Trade Ops, Partnerships, Marketing, Sales and Finance. Product owns the why and the what. You own the how and the when, and you are measured on launches that go live on time, within scope and meet their KPIs.

Responsibilities

  • Join initiatives at the idea stage so cross-functional needs shape the plan from the start.
  • Build and maintain one integrated plan that covers scope, steps, timing and dependencies for every function.
  • Map stakeholders, define team roles, and gather requirements early from non-product functions, including compliance, licensing, reporting and operations, to limit late scope changes.
  • Plan in iterations with defined MVP, V1 and V2 releases so value reaches the market quickly.
  • Set up a lightweight working process for each initiative: kickoff, weekly cross-functional syncs, weekly status reports, monthly steering reviews and post-launch retrospectives.
  • Cut any meeting or artifact that does not speed up execution.
  • Track progress against plan, keep the RAID log (risks, assumptions, issues, decisions) current, and clear blockers.
  • Flag critical dependencies such as licenses, regulatory approvals, banking and liquidity partners and compliance requirements early.
  • Make scope, timeline and effort trade-offs visible early and take options to the right decision owner.
  • Own the readiness checklist and the go/no-go process for all functions, from planning through launch.
  • Run gate checkpoints with Product so work advances only when every function has signed off on requirements, committed to the plan and confirmed readiness.
  • Lead KPI reviews at 3 and 6 months after launch.
  • Act as the single source of truth for executives on status, risks and the decisions they need to make.
  • Work closely with Product and function leads while keeping shared ownership of outcomes across the team.
  • Design, roll out and improve the program management framework with leadership and function leads.
  • Measure your work by on-time launches, scope delivered, effort against plan, fewer late surprises, readiness and business KPIs met.

Requirements

  • 7+ years in program management, technical program management or a similar cross-functional delivery role, preferably in fintech.
  • A record of taking complex cross-functional initiatives, such as new markets, products or regulated offerings, from start to finish.
  • An outcome focus: you judge success by business results and KPIs rather than activity, and you keep the team on what moves them.
  • Strong analytical skills: you use data to set baselines, track progress, size trade-offs and support recommendations to leadership.
  • Ability to lead through influence and align Product, Engineering, Legal, Compliance, Ops, Sales and Finance without direct authority.
  • Strong planning skills, including dependency mapping, risk management, and readiness and go/no-go processes.
  • A pragmatic, iterative approach. You know when process helps and when it slows people down.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills. You build trust across teams and seniority levels, align people with competing priorities, and communicate clearly in writing and in person, from daily updates to concise executive reporting.
  • Comfort with ambiguity and a fast-paced startup environment.
  • What helps you stand out:
  • Program management experience at a payments, FX, crypto or other fintech company.
  • Experience with regulated launches, including licensing, AML/KYC controls, and banking or liquidity partner onboarding.
  • Familiarity with FX markets, cross-border payments or stablecoin infrastructure.
  • Experience building a program management function or framework from scratch.
  • PMP, PgMP or similar certification (nice to have, not required).
