Description

This is an existing vacancy at the company, a global pharmaceutical and diagnostics business, for a Product Owner in AI and digital innovation within Quality Control.

The role sits in the Pharma Technical Operations Quality and Compliance organization and supports the company's global QC network with data solutions.

You will look for AI and predictive analytics opportunities that help teams spot problems early, not only find defects after they occur.

The company employs more than 100,000 people and treats millions of patients with its medicines, with a focus on science and access to healthcare.

Responsibilities

  • Work with business stakeholders to find and rank the AI and digital opportunities with the greatest value for QC.
  • Turn lab problems into structured, scalable data products that meet business needs.
  • Shape agentic workflows that analyze complex data, detect subtle trends, forecast likely deviations and flag anomalies for scientific review.
  • Help move QC from reacting to problems toward proactive quality intelligence, shortening time to resolution and improving efficiency.
  • Encourage sites to adopt digital tools that support continuous improvement and faster decisions.
  • Coordinate with lab scientists, data engineers, software architects and Quality experts so AI solutions match business goals and improve quality metrics.
  • Take on other network QC tasks as the department requires.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree or higher in Bioinformatics, Biochemistry, Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences or a related scientific or technical field.
  • 3-5 years of professional experience in pharmaceuticals, biotechnology or another highly regulated setting, including hands-on work in QC laboratory operations.
  • A solid grasp of applied and agentic AI, such as autonomous workflows, and of using digital tools for data analysis, troubleshooting and remediation.
  • A record of analyzing complex QC problems, engaging stakeholders, mapping scientific workflows and writing business cases for digital or AI solutions.
  • The ability to manage several initiatives at once and rank work by business impact and strategic fit, working independently.
  • Working knowledge of regulatory expectations, cGMP, ICH guidelines and changing global guidance on computerized system validation, data integrity (ALCOA+) and AI/ML use.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain AI and technical concepts to non-technical colleagues and connect data scientists with QC operators.
