Description

The company is an independent game studio founded in 1993, with a free-to-play action game that has 75 million registered players across PC, PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch and iOS. It is also developing an open-world action-fantasy MMORPG that is still under development.

You will lead the strategy for global campaigns across both games, working directly with the Marketing Director to shape campaign vision and tie it to business goals. You will also lead and grow the Product Marketing team.

The role combines high-level positioning with hands-on campaign work. You will step in to execute when needed to protect quality and keep momentum.

Development and community teams are often in other cities or countries, so you will work closely with them to keep marketing aligned with game development. You will encourage open listening across departments and use market data and player insight to build campaigns that connect with players.

Responsibilities

  • Build campaign frameworks, messaging and positioning that give cross-functional teams a clear structure for planning and execution.
  • Coach Product Marketing team members to think more strategically so that the high-level vision shows up in daily campaign work.
  • Plan and run marketing campaigns that grow the games and the brand, handling project management and resource allocation alongside the strategy.
  • Work with development and community teams to respect their creative vision, learning each product's lore, gameplay and brand limits to maximise promotion.
  • Partner with advertising, web and analytics teams to bring changing data into the marketing process. Measure what works, and report progress and ROI to other departments.
  • Check that copy, web content, ads and community materials meet the brand standard and support strategy. Help with creative production and copywriting or editing, keeping the brand consistent everywhere players see it and delivering on time.
  • Manage relationships with creative agencies, vendors and regional partners where needed.
  • Track industry trends and provide analysis when needed, using consumer research and business data to guide strategy and marketing spend.
  • Take on other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business, marketing or a related field.
  • MBA.
  • 3+ years of video game marketing experience, specifically with free-to-play, live-service and online games.
  • Proven experience leading and managing a team.
  • Deep familiarity with live-service ecosystems. Knowledge of and passion for the flagship free-to-play game is highly preferred.
  • Detail-oriented and quality-focused, with a consistent record of meeting tight deadlines.
  • Listens actively, values diverse perspectives and builds open, collaborative teams.
  • Able to think at a high strategic level alongside the Director of Marketing, and move into day-to-day project management and execution.
  • Deep understanding of gamer culture and community sentiment, and skill at turning player data into compelling strategy.
  • Strong grasp of positioning, brand and promotional strategy.
  • Able to build an end-to-end go-to-market plan for a global release across all platforms, including mobile.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-changing, ambiguous environment.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Able to manage many moving parts across two major game IPs at once.
  • Avid gamer and fan of the flagship game is a plus.
  • Experience with JIRA, Asana, Basecamp, Trello and Slack is preferred.
