Description

The company is one of Europe's leading betting and gaming operators, with more than 5,000 employees and a presence in around fifteen regulated markets. It runs a broad, responsible range of games, some under exclusive rights and some open to competition, and has a strong reputation for technology.

We are hiring a Product Manager to lead the direction of Network & Hardware Services. This is the physical and network base that the rest of the infrastructure relies on. You will set the roadmap, build investment cases and decide what gets modernised, what gets retired and what must keep running for another year, working from more than spreadsheets.

You will work closely with the Network Tech Lead, Senior Network Engineers and Architects during technical evaluations. They provide the engineering depth. You provide the portfolio, investment, lifecycle and commercial view needed to turn sound technical recommendations into concrete decisions.

The team is looking for people who like technology, take ownership and can turn complex problems into clear priorities.

Responsibilities

  • Define the strategy and roadmap for Network & Hardware Services.
  • Rank modernisation, lifecycle work, reliability, technical debt and new demand.
  • Work with the Network Engineering Line Manager to match roadmap priorities to team capacity, skills and future capability needs.
  • Join engineers and architects in technology assessments, vendor deep-dives and proofs of concept.
  • Turn technical recommendations into funded, sequenced decisions.
  • Prepare investment cases for refresh and modernisation.
  • Manage the non-personnel budget for your portfolio.
  • Shape the vendor and sourcing strategy and lead commercial negotiations with Procurement.
  • Balance demand, capacity, cost and technical priorities.
  • Decline requests when that is the right call.
  • Explain direction and trade-offs clearly to engineering teams and senior leadership.

Requirements

  • Understand enterprise networking and physical infrastructure well enough to hold your own in technical discussions, without needing to be the most technical person in the room.
  • Have experience with infrastructure services, technical platforms or other complex technology environments.
  • Test technical proposals, challenge them where needed and explain their impact to non-technical leaders.
  • Plan strategically and set priorities well.
  • Read budgets, business cases, vendors and total cost of ownership with commercial judgement.
  • Earn engineers' trust and challenge their assumptions constructively.
  • Move easily between engineering detail and leadership conversations.

Conditions

Candidates do not need to be a Product Manager yet. Network Architects, Infrastructure Architects, Engineering Leads or Technical Product Managers ready to take wider ownership of a technology portfolio are a fit.

The role stays close to the technology and includes an important part in choosing it, but does not involve implementing it hands-on.

This suits people moving from hands-on engineering towards strategy, investment and technology leadership.

Hiring is based on skills, experience and potential. Applications are assessed on merit, without regard to age, gender, origin, religion, sexual orientation, neurodiversity or disability.

Benefits

  • You will work with experienced engineers and have the budget, mandate and influence to turn sound technical decisions into action.
  • You will help shape architecture, investment, modernisation and the long-term direction of critical infrastructure services.
