Product Engineer

Description

The team is building better tools for legal research and wants a product engineer to help shape what gets built, mainly on the backend.

You will have a say in the product and take features from an early idea to something customers use daily. That means checking whether the team is solving the right problem, choosing what to ship first, and recognising when a feature needs more time.

The company is rebuilding legal research, aiming to replace fragmented sources and outdated systems with a large AI-powered legal database.

The team has 40+ people across Copenhagen (HQ), Zurich, London and Hamburg. It is small, with high trust and a flat structure. Good input gets built, often within hours rather than sprints.

The company has raised more than €4M, including a €2.9M seed round in February 2025 led by People Ventures and Interface Capital, with several angel investors. It serves 400+ customers in Denmark, Germany and Switzerland.

Responsibilities

• Take product ideas from early conversations through implementation, testing and delivery.
• Question scope, make trade-offs and find a smaller version worth shipping.
• Follow through after customers start using a feature.
• Share unfinished work and help decide what is worth building.
• Know when to push back and spend more time on a decision, and explain why it matters.
• Experiment with new tools and ways of working, and share what you learn in the monthly demo sessions.

Requirements

• You have built and run backend systems that real customers depend on.
• You can reason about data, APIs, performance and security, and explain the consequences of your decisions.
• Experience with TypeScript, NestJS, GraphQL, Postgres and Prisma is useful.
• Experience with OpenAI and Turbopuffer is useful. Projects you built with them and the decisions you made are of particular interest.
• You enjoy working on a product problem while it is still forming.
