Lead Software Engineer

Description

The role sits in manufacturing technology at the company, where the software helps make LEGO bricks.

You will work with 1, 2 manufacturing product teams and other Lead Engineers, helping the teams move away from legacy systems toward modern, decoupled solutions.

The work centres on automation, scalability and operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Set technical direction for 1, 2 manufacturing product teams.
• Shape the architecture of manufacturing technology.
• Replace legacy manufacturing systems with modern, decoupled technologies.
• Guide the design and build of complex manufacturing solutions.
• Help product teams choose technologies and set engineering standards they can build on.
• Guide product teams and engineers on architecture direction and technical standards.
• Turn architecture decisions into practical technology that suits manufacturing teams and how their products change over time.
• In your first year, help teams make confident architecture decisions and give manufacturing technology a clearer technical direction.
• Over the following 12, 18 months, make it easier for product teams to build, integrate and evolve their solutions.

Requirements

• Experience developing software for manufacturing processes.
• Experience designing decoupled architectures for manufacturing systems that improve integration and delivery.
• Experience leading the technical design and implementation of complex solutions across 1, 2 product teams.
• Experience guiding product teams and engineers on architecture and technical standards.
• Preferred: experience using Kubernetes in software solutions.
• Preferred: experience developing software in C.
