Lead Software Developer (f/m)

Description

The company's commercial aircraft unit is hiring a full stack developer for its Tools4Dev team, part of Software Engineering Governance (SEG), based in Toulouse.

The team builds advanced software tools and AI coding assistants so that developers across the organization can meet high engineering standards.

Toulouse, in southwest France, is the aeronautics capital and Europe's space research hub. It has an international airport and sits between the Mediterranean and the Atlantic, near the Pyrenees, so outdoor activities are easy to reach.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor the software development team in a collaborative, creative setting.
• Architect, design and build complex software systems that follow sound architectural practice.
• Own the full development lifecycle, from technical requirements through deployment and ongoing support.
• Review code, keep quality and maintainability high, and solve difficult technical problems.
• Push continuous improvement, drive adoption of AI coding assistants, and shape the technical roadmap.

Requirements

• A degree in computer science, software engineering or a related technical field.
• At least 8 years of software development experience, including at least 3 years in a senior or lead role.
• Proven skill in TypeScript, Python, software architecture patterns and Agile/Scrum.
• Advanced ability to work with AI coding assistants and to build Model Context Protocols (MCPs).
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines, Git, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and cloud platforms.
• Fluency in English is required.
• A plus: proficiency in French or German.
