Senior PHP Engineer - Checkout - Pre-Confirmation (all genders)

The role covers the checkout experience up to the point where an order is confirmed.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain scalable REST APIs and microservices in PHP with Laravel or Symfony for the checkout.
• Create event-driven flows on AWS SNS and SQS that process payments, orders and inventory asynchronously.
• Tune MySQL or PostgreSQL queries and Redis caching so the system holds up under sudden traffic peaks.
• Write automated tests, review colleagues' pull requests, and push for sound architecture and clean code.
• Work daily with product, QA and DevOps on short sprints that deliver high-impact changes.
• Investigate complex technical problems and weigh long-term code health against shipping on schedule.

Requirements

• At least 6 years of backend development, with senior-level ownership of systems.
• Mastery of PHP 8.x with Laravel, Symfony or another modern enterprise framework.
• Working knowledge of relational databases and caching: MySQL, PostgreSQL and Redis.
• Experience designing APIs and microservices against OpenAPI or Swagger standards.
• Hands-on experience with asynchronous processing using SNS and SQS.
• Familiarity with containers and CI/CD: Docker, Git and GitLab CI.
• Fluent English and clear, solution-focused communication.
• Background in e-commerce, checkout flows or payment processor integrations.
• Experience with cloud platforms, Kubernetes and application observability or monitoring tools.
