Principal/Sr. Principal DevOps Engineer

Description

The company's Mission Systems unit is hiring a Principal or Sr. Principal DevOps Engineer to maintain and extend capabilities for DAF CLOUDworks, a fast-growing secure cloud program made up of more than 10 teams.

The program covers information security, infrastructure development and cloud migration. The role is based onsite at Port San Antonio in San Antonio, TX.

You will join one of these teams and support customers who use the program. The work covers day-to-day operations and sustainment, plus changes that add new requirements, improve functionality and efficiency, or reduce operating and deployment costs.

This role can be filled at the Principal level or the Sr. Principal level.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support to customers who use DAF CLOUDworks.
• Maintain and enhance the program's capabilities.
• Modify and extend offerings to meet new requirements, improve functionality and efficiency, and lower operating or deployment costs.
• Work through the full life cycle of development using Agile methods.
• Keep stakeholders informed of project status and blockers across several geographically spread teams.
• Build and sustain productive working relationships with internal stakeholders, solving problems as they arise.

Requirements

• Both levels: expertise with infrastructure components, including network, storage, Linux/Windows and IT security concepts.
• Both levels: strong technical knowledge of cloud platforms, including AWS, Azure and Google Cloud.
• Both levels: expertise with Infrastructure as Code, containerization with Docker and Kubernetes, and microservices.
• Both levels: experience with networking and with scripting in Bash or PowerShell.
• Both levels: experience with Agile methodologies and the Atlassian tools Jira and Confluence.
• Both levels: US citizenship is required.
• Both levels: able to obtain IAT Level II certification under DoD 8570.01, such as CASP+ or Security+, within 60 days of the start date.
• Principal (level 3): a high school diploma with 9 years of relevant experience, a bachelor's degree with 5 years, or a master's degree with 3 years.
• Principal (level 3): an active Top Secret clearance with SCI, or an inactive TS/SCI clearance debriefed less than two years ago.
• Sr. Principal (level 4): a high school diploma with 12 years of relevant experience, a bachelor's degree with 8 years, or a master's degree with 6 years.
• Sr. Principal (level 4): an active Top Secret clearance, or an inactive TS/SCI clearance debriefed less than two years ago.

Conditions

A Top Secret clearance is required before you can start.

Travel is about 10% of the time.

You must be able to support 24x7 on-call duty.

• Base pay ranges are a general guide. Offers depend on the scope of the role and on your experience, education, skills and current market conditions. Primary level: $103,600.00 to $155,400.00. Secondary level: $129,300.00 to $193,900.00.
