Description

The AI Control Tower is the company's central hub for governing every AI model, agent, and dataset across an enterprise. The team is building the infrastructure enterprises will rely on as agentic AI moves from experiments into production.

The company is hiring a Principal Engineer who has already taken a 1.0 product through to launch: someone who designs from first principles, works through hard technical problems alongside early customers, and builds foundations that make adoption grow over time. You will report to the Director of Engineering, AICT, and own the technical architecture of key product areas meant to become standard infrastructure for running AI at scale.

You use AI every day, build with it, and let that shape how your team designs and ships.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and build of core AICT platform components, turning complex product requirements into scalable, observable plans with clear failure recovery patterns.
  • Set the technical standard for how governance infrastructure is built.
  • Own the path from early release to meaningful customer adoption. Learn quickly and iterate based on what customers actually do, and build feedback loops that keep adoption compounding.
  • Set the engineering bar for using AI internally, from AI-assisted code review and automated testing to platform features that treat AI agents as first-class users. Lead by example to raise both delivery speed and software quality.
  • Serve as the senior technical voice that raises the standard for those around you. Run deep-dive architecture reviews, give clear technical guidance, represent AICT in technical forums, and help shape long-term platform strategy.
  • Work with Product Management, Design, and partner engineering teams to agree on dependencies and ship a coherent experience. Represent engineering in planning and review meetings with senior leadership.

Requirements

  • 10+ years in software engineering, including shipping complex enterprise SaaS products and guiding them through growth.
  • Strong grounding in cloud-native SaaS architecture: multi-tenant design, large-scale REST or gRPC APIs, Kubernetes, observability, and multi-cloud platforms on AWS, Azure, and GCP.
  • Expertise in distributed and event-driven systems, with a focus on scalability, reliability, fault tolerance, and operational observability.
  • Deep knowledge of database schema design and data modeling across relational, graph, vector, columnar, OLAP, and streaming architectures, including scalable data models for AI and enterprise workloads.
  • Experience building and shipping products from zero, ideally in high-growth settings where you worked hands-on with both code and architecture decisions.
  • Proficiency across the full engineering lifecycle (architecture, implementation, debugging, security, CI/CD), using AI to speed up delivery and improve quality.
  • A record of leading cross-team technical initiatives and driving architecture decisions through clear reasoning, without relying on formal authority.
  • Ability to work at the highest architectural level while staying hands-on in code when it counts.
  • Experience with governance, observability, or compliance products, including auditability, enterprise risk frameworks, and regulatory requirements.
  • Hands-on familiarity with agentic system challenges such as tool reliability, context window management, failure modes, and cost optimization.
  • Background in enterprise security, IAM, or data governance.
  • Familiarity with AI interoperability standards such as MCP, OpenAPI, or similar.
  • An MS or PhD in Computer Science, AI, or a related technical field is an advantage.
