Description

You will join the team building the company's cloud-native security management platform, which gives central control over policies, monitoring, and automation for firewalls, secure edge services, and hybrid cloud environments through one web console.

The platform also acts as the company's management portal for SASE and covers Zero Trust, Zero Touch Provisioning, threat visibility, analytics, and API-driven integrations.

The on-premises edition brings the same kind of management to the company's firewall fleet, covering policy lifecycle, monitoring, configuration, logging, and automation in a browser. It replaces the company's earlier on-premises management tool and suits organizations that must host locally.

This is a senior technical leadership role. You will shape product components with visible impact, bring fresh ideas to hard problems, and find ways to cut costs or meet customer needs not yet served.

You will be a recognized internal expert in a key technology area, lead significant project work, and join or start cross-functional efforts. You will also mentor colleagues and share knowledge across the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Own one or more product modules from design through delivery.
  • Write code for well-scoped tasks.
  • Debug difficult problems and design software at module level, and work across several modules or features.
  • Review designs and evaluate project activity.
  • Build, repair, and improve software for enhancements to existing products and for new products.
  • Apply the company's compliance rules and development standards in your work.
  • Write solid unit tests, raise code coverage through automation, and check new and existing features. Document and run functional test cases before handing work to QA.

Requirements

  • Experience building cloud products on a microservices architecture.
  • Deep knowledge of cloud applications and related technologies.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with sharp debugging ability.
  • Proven work in globally distributed engineering teams, collaborating across time zones and cultures to deliver complex software.
  • Extensive hands-on work in several of the technology areas below, with the ability to pick up adjacent areas quickly.
  • Excellent written and spoken communication, with full command of English and your local language.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer science or engineering.
  • Typically 4-6 years of experience.
  • Background in the security domain.
  • Experience developing network management systems.
  • Experience building software platforms that other applications consume.
  • Core technologies: Go 1.24 or later; Java with Spring Boot, Spring Framework, or Jakarta EE; PostgreSQL or an equivalent database; Elasticsearch; gRPC, Protocol Buffers, REST, and OpenAPI/Swagger.
  • Cloud technologies: Apache Kafka (Confluent, Sarama) and Redis-based queues; Docker, Kubernetes, and Kubernetes client libraries; Prometheus, distributed tracing, and structured logging with SLF4J or Logback; a load balancer such as Ambassador or equivalent.
  • Other technologies: Bazel, Maven, and Helm; OAuth2, SAML, and JWT; Jenkins CI/CD.
