Description

This role is for a graduate developer who will design, build and improve software that gives the company's customers and colleagues business, platform and technology capabilities, using a range of engineering methods.

You will join a 1 year expert programme, a fast-track scheme that builds depth and breadth of experience. Job-based training starts on day one, so you can step into your role with specialist technical skills.

Developers here help build, test and run systems used across the company and help solve complex problems for clients and customers. Technologies include Java, C++, C, Python, SQL, JavaScript/TypeScript, containers, DevOps, cloud, machine learning, scripting and real-time systems.

The company welcomes applications from people of all backgrounds who are curious, creative and ambitious.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, test and maintain software using industry-standard languages, frameworks and tools.
  • Write code that is scalable, easy to maintain and fast.
  • Work with product managers, designers and other engineers to define requirements, plan solutions and integrate work with business goals.
  • Take part in code reviews and share knowledge to raise code quality across the team.
  • Apply secure coding practices to reduce vulnerabilities and protect sensitive data.
  • Write unit tests so that code is well designed, readable and reliable.
  • Carry out assigned tasks on time and to a high standard, continually improving how you work.
  • Manage risk and strengthen controls in the work you own or contribute to, and follow relevant rules, regulations and codes of conduct.
  • Escalate policy or procedure breaches appropriately, and help embed new policies or procedures adopted to mitigate risk.
  • Build an understanding of how your sub-function fits into the wider function and its products, services and processes.
  • Explain complex or sensitive information clearly and act as a contact point for stakeholders outside your immediate function.
  • If you lead people, guide their professional development, allocate work and coordinate team resources, using the four LEAD behaviours: listen and be authentic, energise and inspire, align across the enterprise, and develop others.

Requirements

  • A strong degree, or expected degree, achieved before June 2027.
  • A genuine interest in technology.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • The drive to deliver innovative solutions.
  • Technical knowledge and experience in your area of expertise, and an understanding of its underlying principles.
  • Good judgement based on attention to detail, and the ability to solve problems using your technical experience and past precedents.

Conditions

Applications are accepted from candidates who need visa sponsorship to work in the UK. The company will provide a skilled worker visa to successful applicants who meet the Home Office's eligibility criteria.

If you are not eligible for a skilled worker visa and the company cannot secure one for you, you must already have the legal right to work in the UK full time from August 2027 to August 2028.

The role is based at the Northampton campus, which has cafés, changing areas, collaboration spaces, green spaces and wellbeing areas. Parking, public transport links, a shuttle bus and nearby local amenities are available.

The closing date for applications is 27 November 2026. The vacancy may close earlier because of high application numbers, so apply as early as you can.

Benefits

  • Job-based, bespoke training from the start of the 1 year programme.
  • Training and support to help you develop your career and make your mark.
  • Connections and experiences curated for graduates.
