Description

Hybrid role: you work in the office 2 days per week, which the company sees as a mix of in-person collaboration and flexibility.

The company serves millions of diners and 70,000+ restaurant partners and has 25+ years in the industry. It is part of a publicly traded parent group and is known for helping restaurants do well.

Its technology lets restaurants focus on their team, their guests and their bottom line, while diners find and book a restaurant for any occasion.

You join a global team that runs a portfolio of metasearch brands. Caring for others is central to how the team works.

The Hospitality team designs how restaurants turn guests into regulars. As Principal Product Designer, you own the design vision for how restaurants communicate with guests, using AI to move faster while keeping a personal feel. You set design strategy across the Hospitality portfolio and work with product, engineering, data and research leaders on what gets built and why. Your work shapes whether restaurants trust the guest information provided and act on it.

This is an existing opening. You report directly to the Design Director of Hospitality.

Responsibilities

  • Set the design vision and strategy for guest communication so restaurants can send timely, personal messages that keep guests engaged.
  • Define multi-year product direction across Hospitality with cross-functional partners, turning business goals into a consistent user experience.
  • Make complex guest data into interfaces restaurants trust, from spotting a returning guest to using that context during service.
  • Own end-to-end design: frame the problem, produce polished, accessible interfaces and raise the craft standard across the team.
  • Win alignment from senior stakeholders with clear narrative, prototypes and research evidence.
  • Coach designers and build shared practices, patterns and critique across the organization.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of professional product design, including leading design on complex, large-scale products.
  • A portfolio that shows design strategy, interaction design and high visual craft across web and mobile.
  • Skilled in Figma and current prototyping tools.
  • A track record of setting and driving design vision with product, engineering and research partners.
  • Strong written and spoken communication, including defending design choices to senior audiences.
  • Preferred: experience using AI tools in design workflows to improve speed and quality of outcomes.
  • Preferred: experience designing for two-sided marketplaces or for both consumer and business users.
  • Preferred: familiarity with data quality, identity or personalization systems.

Conditions

Hybrid model: in the office 2 days per week.

Base salary is competitive.

The schedule spans several time zones. Most work falls in normal hours, but you may need to handle calls, Slack messages or emails outside them to work with international colleagues, reply to restaurant partners or address urgent matters.

Local laws and regulations are always followed.

The company works to be inclusive, and accommodations are available on request through your recruiter during the application, interview or on the job.

Benefits

  • Generous paid vacation, plus time off for your birthday.
  • Remote stints of up to 20 days a year from nearly any location.
  • Company-paid therapy sessions through SpringHealth.
  • Company-paid Headspace subscription.
  • An annual company-wide week off, so the whole team recharges and returns without a backlog.
  • Paid parental leave.
  • Paid volunteer time.
  • Development Dollars for career growth.

  • Access to thousands of on-demand e-learning courses.
  • Travel discounts.
