Description

The firm is built on positive relationships with its people and clients, and provides advice and insight that clients can trust.

This is an existing vacancy for a Principal Architect, a highly technical enterprise and solution architecture lead who sets architecture direction and makes sure technology designs fit business strategy, standards and roadmaps.

As an individual contributor, you lead complex architecture work, give technical leadership and mentorship to architects, and give the Manager, Architecture & Design informed feedback on performance and development.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the technical lead for enterprise and solution architecture, setting direction, reviewing deliverables and keeping work rigorous, pragmatic and tied to business strategy.
  • Build enterprise architecture principles, reference architectures, roadmaps, patterns and standards that steer technology investment and delivery.
  • Lead architecture for complex, cross-enterprise initiatives and run design reviews so solutions are secure, scalable, resilient and supportable.
  • Make calls across application, data, integration, infrastructure, cloud, identity, security and emerging technology, settling hard trade-offs and architecture exceptions.
  • Work with business, delivery, engineering, operations, vendors and domain architects to produce cohesive, buildable designs that push modernization, reuse, rationalization and technical debt reduction.
  • Coach and mentor architects, and give the Manager, Architecture & Design evidence-based input for performance reviews, development plans and work allocation.

Requirements

  • A degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or a related field, or equivalent education and experience.
  • At least 10 years of progressively responsible enterprise technology work, including substantial hands-on enterprise and solution architecture in a large, complex organization.
  • A record of leading architects as a senior technical authority, through technical credibility, influence, coaching, mentoring and design governance.
  • Deep enterprise and solution architecture expertise, with broad knowledge of cloud, applications, integration, identity, infrastructure, security, data, AI and modern software delivery.
  • A proven ability to build and critically assess complex designs on platforms such as Microsoft Azure, AWS, Microsoft Entra ID, Azure Data Factory, Databricks, Microsoft Fabric, Microsoft Foundry, integration and messaging platforms, event-driven architecture and API management.
  • Strong systems thinking, sound technical judgment, communication and stakeholder influence, with the ability to explain complex decisions to senior leaders and delivery teams.
  • Certifications such as TOGAF, Azure Solutions Architect, AWS Solutions Architect or ITIL are an asset.

Conditions

The expected compensation range is $97,000 to $147,000. The final offer may vary based on the candidate's qualifications, experience, specialized skills and other business considerations.

Staff are expected to split their time between the office, client sites and remote work, unless an accommodation or alternative arrangement is in place.

The firm offers a blended work model that can flex when, where and how you work to suit the role.

The firm is an equal opportunity employer and is committed to accessibility; accommodation is available during the application process on request.

The firm uses AI-enabled tools in parts of recruitment, but all employment decisions are made by its people.

Benefits

  • The firm was named among Canada's Top 100 Employers for 2026, adding to its awards for experienced and student talent.
  • Competitive total cash compensation that rewards performance, with comprehensive benefits from day one.
  • A flexible personal time off policy.
  • Reimbursement for wellness initiatives.
  • Opportunities for learning and development, a voice in how the firm changes, and support for community involvement and local charity work.
