Workday Solution Architect

The solution architect links business goals to technical solutions across Workday implementation, optimization, and transformation work.

Success in this role means strong governance of architecture, quality, and risk, plus growth in practice, business development, and capability building.

You will be seen by clients as a subject matter expert in Workday Core HR and a strategic adviser on HR operating models and system design.

You will build scalable, well-architected solutions across platforms and technologies that match business needs and leading practices.

You will help build a collaborative, inclusive team and support junior consultants.

You will keep up with Workday releases, industry trends, and HR best practices.

Responsibilities

• Lead the architecture of Workday implementation, enhancement, and transformation projects from start to finish.
• Act as the design authority across every workstream, making sure decisions meet client goals and leading practices.
• Run solution design workshops and shape future-state business processes.
• Assess how solution decisions affect other areas, and keep Workday modules, integrations, reporting, and data needs aligned.
• Advise senior leaders on Workday capabilities, roadmap choices, and transformation opportunities.
• Spot project risks early and plan how to reduce them throughout the project.
• Set up and maintain solution governance for the full engagement.
• Oversee quality across configuration, testing, data conversion, integrations, and deployment.
• Work with project leadership on scope, risks, dependencies, and issue resolution.
• Plan and carry out the handover to support teams and the knowledge transfer after go-live.
• Help with business development, including qualifying opportunities, designing solutions, preparing estimates and proposals, and presenting to clients.
• Contribute to practice building, including methods, accelerators, and thought leadership.
• Coach consultants and emerging solution architects to grow the Workday practice.

Requirements

• At least 7 years of experience in Workday implementation, advisory, or solution architecture.
• Experience leading enterprise Workday HCM and/or Finance transformations across several workstreams.
• Proven skill in solution design, business process change, integrations, reporting, and data.
• Experience leading client engagements and managing relationships with senior stakeholders.
• A track record of supporting sales pursuits, proposals, and solutioning.
• Strong skills in communication, presentation, facilitation, and managing executives.
• Relevant Workday certifications are preferred.
• Consulting experience in a professional services firm is an asset.
• A bachelor's degree or an equivalent mix of education and experience.
