Description

The KYC Experience team in the company Platform builds the onboarding and identity verification APIs and services that partners such as Google, Deel, Ramp and Agoda rely on to onboard their customers in a compliant way.

You will join an autonomous, cross-functional team in London that works with engineering, product, analytics, compliance and operations to build KYC and onboarding products for partners, and you will have real influence over where the KYC experience goes next.

Responsibilities

  • Design and build public APIs for the company Platform and partners that are clear, consistent and simple to use, with the aim of setting the standard for financial integrations.
  • Own and drive the technical roadmap for your domain, dealing with tech debt, reliability, scalability and security and tying each of these to the product plan.
  • Design highly robust, scalable microservices, using event-driven patterns.
  • Shape product roadmaps and strategy with product management and your cross-functional team.
  • Lead high-impact problems inside your team and across teams, running cross-team initiatives that deliver new features and value to partners.
  • Coach engineers and leads through code reviews and good practice, and help lift the technical bar across the discipline.

Requirements

  • Solid command of modern Java or another JVM language, with experience in Spring and a habit of writing clean, testable, high-performance code.
  • Substantial experience building and running microservices, with a good grasp of event-driven architecture, distributed systems and concurrency patterns.
  • Hands-on experience with Kafka or a similar messaging system, including designing and owning reliable, scalable event pipelines.
  • Working knowledge of relational and non-relational databases, covering query tuning, schema design and careful lifecycle management of sensitive data.
  • A product mindset that puts customer needs first and uses data to shape roadmaps and solve partner problems.
  • Experience leading initiatives that span teams and disciplines, and a commitment to clean, well-tested, fast code.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical ideas to non-technical people and steer a debate to a clear decision.
