Motion Automation Intelligence - Technical Support Specialist III

Description

This Technical Support Specialist III role offers advanced pre- and post-sales expertise, delivered on site, to external and internal customers for a product or product group. The aim is happier customers and higher sales.

The company is a motion automation business and the role sits with the sales and support team.

Responsibilities

• Give advanced help with products and their applications, on site, by phone and through web sessions, and take on the hardest cases.
• Study customer technical specs and build bills of materials for changing, setting up and installing products or systems.
• Design systems to meet customer specs that combine products from several manufacturers, and suggest extra products and solutions to grow sales.
• Run presentations and product demos for customers and sales reps, for both promotion and training.
• Work with internal colleagues to find and follow up on business development leads and to push solutions.
• Market manufacturers' products, solutions and processes in target markets, turning manufacturer material into flyers, slide decks and demos.
• Come up with new solution ideas and offers. Pick target customers and products, produce promotional material, draft sales plans and strategies, and track results.
• Handle product usage questions from customers as they come up. On site, troubleshoot and fix rollout problems and help with first-time user training where needed.
• Mentor colleagues on the team.
• Take on other duties as they are assigned.

Requirements

• Typically a bachelor's degree in engineering, business or a related field, plus 5 years or more of related experience, or an equivalent mix of education and experience.
• Deep understanding of the company's products, suppliers and key vendors.
• Expert knowledge of the software and programming technology that applies to the work.
• Expert knowledge of, and skill in, installing product and service solutions on site.

Conditions

Travel is required.

Pay is $78,315.55 to $101,824.13 per year. This range is not a guarantee. The final offer may vary with experience and location, and the range does not include other parts of the total rewards package. Pay for a hire is set by location, skills, education and experience, so total pay can fall outside the range.
