The company's cloud team builds mission-critical cloud infrastructure that must stay highly available.

You will develop and maintain core platform services that manage Linux hosts and applications spread across geographically distributed sites.

The work supports enterprise, telecom, and 5G workloads, and the team builds on open-source projects including StarlingX and Kubernetes.

For more than four decades the company has built systems where security, safety, and reliability are critical, serving automotive, aerospace, defense, industrial, medical, and telecom customers.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain resilient distributed systems and platform services for cloud environments on Linux.
• Write production-quality code, mostly in Python and Go, for large-scale deployments that must stay highly available.
• Build and improve cloud-native features using Kubernetes, Operators, Helm, OpenStack, and related tools.
• Contribute to StarlingX and other open-source projects for edge and distributed cloud platforms.
• Investigate and fix problems involving Linux processes, high availability, monitoring, failover, and configuration management.
• Raise code quality, maintainability, and technical standards across the active code streams.
• Set up and keep host and service configuration management reliable, following Linux best practices.
• Use AI-assisted development tools to improve code quality and speed up delivery.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field.
• 7+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• 5+ years developing software on Linux and programming in Python.
• 5+ years designing and building distributed systems.
• 2+ years contributing to software architecture and technical design decisions.
• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes and building cloud-native applications.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and debugging skills, and you work well in a team.
• Preferred: exposure to Go, C/C++, and Kubernetes Operators.

Conditions

Pay falls between $110,000 and $140,000 CAD, with an annual incentive plan bonus on top.

Final pay depends on education, experience, knowledge, skills, location, abilities, and internal equity.

The role is hybrid.
