This is a Manager role leading a St. Louis-based team that supports highly available, low-latency trading and market infrastructure services across on-premises and cloud environments. The team works with global engineering, product, infrastructure, cyber, risk and business groups to keep critical services secure, reliable and ready to scale.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach and develop DevOps and application support engineers, setting clear objectives, building their skills, planning succession and fostering an inclusive, accountable team.
  • Own the availability, performance, capacity and recoverability of assigned trading and application services, using service-level objectives and operational metrics to guide results.
  • Run incident, problem, change, release and event management, including major-incident response, stakeholder updates, root-cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Push forward CI/CD, infrastructure as code, configuration management, automated testing, deployment controls and repeatable environment setup.
  • Strengthen monitoring, alerting, logging, tracing, dashboards and automated remediation, and cut operational toil and repeat failures.
  • Keep disaster recovery and business continuity controls ready, and manage security compliance, vulnerability fixes, audit evidence and operational risk actions.
  • Work with global product and engineering teams so new services can be supported, are production-ready and match enterprise architecture and technology standards.
  • Set priorities and resources, manage technical debt, service improvements and dependencies, and report clearly on performance, risks, incidents and delivery commitments.
  • Use data, retrospectives and industry practice to improve customer outcomes, platform resilience, team effectiveness and cost efficiency.
  • Expected outcomes: stable, secure and resilient production services for time-sensitive financial markets; fewer incidents, shorter recovery times, less manual work and lower deployment risk; consistent standards for production readiness, service acceptance and operational governance; reusable delivery patterns for applications and infrastructure across hybrid environments; clear service ownership, useful operational metrics and open risk reporting; a high-performing team with strong technical depth, customer focus and good collaboration across regions.

Requirements

  • Proven experience leading DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering, production engineering or application support teams in a complex, regulated or high-availability setting.
  • Strong operational leadership across incident, problem, change, release, capacity, availability and continuity management.
  • Working knowledge of Linux/Unix, networking, databases, middleware, cloud services and distributed application architectures.
  • Hands-on delivery of CI/CD, infrastructure as code, configuration management, automated testing and secure software delivery.
  • Experience using observability and operations tooling to improve service health and shorten mean time to detect and recover.
  • Ability to assess technical and operational risk, set remediation priorities and explain issues clearly to senior technical and business stakeholders.
  • Strong people management, including hiring, coaching, performance management, workforce planning and developing diverse teams.
  • A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology or equivalent practical experience.
  • Preferred: experience in financial markets, trading platforms or market infrastructure. Candidates from other high-availability technology environments are also encouraged to apply.
  • Optional: experience with technologies such as AWS, Linux/Unix, Kubernetes, Docker, Terraform, Ansible, Git, Jenkins or similar CI/CD platforms, Python, Bash, PowerShell, Kafka, SQL/Oracle, Control-M, Datadog or similar observability tools, Jira and Confluence. Deep knowledge of every item is not required; sound engineering judgement, quick learning and the ability to lead specialists matter more.
  • You act with integrity, keep your commitments, build partnerships across teams, locations and disciplines, and hold a high bar for engineering and operational excellence.
  • You welcome change, challenge ideas constructively, turn ideas into measurable results, stay calm and clear under pressure, and help others take ownership and grow.

Conditions

The role is based in St. Louis and follows the company's hybrid working approach, with the team's pattern agreed according to business and operational needs.

You are expected to take part in an out-of-hours management escalation rota.

Planned weekend or evening support may be required for releases, resilience testing or major service events.

The role works across US, UK, EMEA and Asia-Pacific time zones, and occasional travel may be required.

Career stage: Manager.

The company is an equal opportunities employer and does not discriminate on any protected basis, and it will make reasonable accommodations for religious practices, beliefs, mental health or physical disability needs where the law requires.
