Description

Turn marketing data into decisions the team can act on.

The company is a mutual insurer owned by its policyholders across Iowa and South Dakota, and has operated for more than 80 years.

This hands-on role improves how marketing data is gathered, linked, governed and applied. The analyst will help the team follow customer journeys from start to finish, measure campaigns and content more accurately, spot missing data that slows decisions, and turn findings into concrete recommendations.

The ideal candidate has real experience with marketing dashboards and analytics tools such as Google Analytics or Adobe Customer Journey Analytics, and is willing to do the careful work needed to make data reliable and usable. You will work independently, run core analytics processes, and support the team as its measurement capabilities grow.

Responsibilities

  • Run data quality reviews and oversee governance processes.
  • Build sequential journey segmentations.
  • Work with stakeholders and peers to build and maintain reports and dashboards.
  • Help define measurement, learning and testing plans with partner teams.
  • Support shared KPI definitions and data governance.
  • Map fields and validate inputs as new data sources are added.
  • Build PowerPoint decks that present your results.
  • Deliver timely analysis that helps marketing and corporate communications teams read the data.
  • Apply rigorous, best-practice methods to measure online and offline campaigns and the performance of digital properties.
  • Build dashboards, visualizations, and regular and ad hoc reports that track performance and guide marketing spend, and connect data sources to show how channels drive business outcomes.
  • Plan measurement and reporting with peers, forecast marketing effectiveness, and identify the data to collect, working with internal teams to gather or map it.
  • Tag and track the company's digital properties so personas, journeys, segments and campaigns are followed accurately.
  • Run thorough data quality checks on display, personalization, sales funnel tactics, click tracking and overall tracking.
  • Plan and run experiments, including A/B tests and test-and-learn campaigns, with strategy and channel owners, then analyze results and share insights.
  • Dig into data to find trends, behaviors and patterns, and recommend ways to improve marketing spend and activity.
  • Turn analysis into clear data stories that inform team members, marketing leadership, agency partners and supporting departments.
  • Help raise the maturity of marketing and digital analytics and show marketing's effect on business results.
  • Own marketing's processes, artifacts and routines for data collection, QA, measurement and reporting.
  • Promote a data-driven culture on the team as an analytics leader and mentor.
  • Work with company analytics teams and vendors on projects such as list builds, business cases and opportunity sizing.
  • Set priorities, identify what matters most, and make sure deadlines are met.
  • Take on other tasks as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, business, data science or a related field, or equivalent direct and applicable work experience.
  • 3+ years of marketing experience in areas such as performance marketing, media measurement, growth analytics, attribution, trend analysis, forecasting, sales funnels, on-site conversion and customer journey analytics.
  • Hands-on experience with platforms such as Google Analytics (GA), Google Tag Manager 360 (GTM), Google Looker Studio, Customer Journey Analytics, Adobe Target, Adobe Experience Platform and/or Power BI dashboards.
  • Solid grasp of marketing principles, so you can analyze data, find insights and guide strategic decisions.
  • Track record of meeting deadlines, solving problems and tying project work to campaign strategy.
  • Proficiency in Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
  • Clear verbal and written communication, with the ability to consult stakeholders and present to technical and non-technical audiences, including key decision makers.
  • Strong organization, with the ability to manage several activities or projects at once.
  • Ability to build relationships with peers, key stakeholders and vendors to get results.
  • Preferred: Ability to build complex performance management and reporting processes in Excel or other analytics software.
  • Preferred: Relevant certifications, such as Certified Marketing Analyst.
