Lead/Staff Forward Deployed AI Engineer - Senior Vice President

The Applied AI and Agents Factory is a group of engineers who turn advanced AI capabilities into production systems. You will work with business and technology teams on hard engineering problems, build intelligent agents, and carry ideas from first concept to live release.

The work goes beyond chat tools. You will build systems that reason, plan and carry out multi-step workflows, owning the whole lifecycle from agent design and orchestration to enterprise integration, security and observability.

The role is hands-on, collaborative and fast-moving. You will help shape reusable tools and engineering standards used across the company.

As a senior technical anchor in a line of business delivery pod, you will lead technical discovery, design end-to-end agent workflows for key use cases, lead complex integrations with core banking systems, and mentor engineers across the pod.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the senior technical authority in a line of business squad, working with stakeholders and domain experts to turn complex, unclear operational processes into sound architecture.
• Design, build and ship production agent reasoning loops and multi-agent workflows in Python, using graph-based state engines such as LangGraph and enterprise orchestration runtimes.
• Lead prototyping sprints that produce working conversational and multi-agent prototypes within days, testing business fit, user trust and interaction design before full build.
• Co-design human-in-the-loop review interfaces and feedback mechanisms with business users to drive adoption, trust and transparency.
• Lead the design and build of secure Model Context Protocol servers, OpenAPI bridges and gRPC/REST connectors that link agents to sensitive core banking engines, databases and microservices.
• Architect enterprise RAG pipelines covering hybrid search (dense vector plus sparse BM25), semantic caching, contextual chunking, re-ranking and knowledge graph integration.
• Build zero-trust controls for agent execution, including mutual TLS, OAuth2/OIDC token delegation, enterprise secret vaults and sandboxed containers.
• Set coding standards, run rigorous code and architecture reviews, and mentor Senior (C13) and Junior/Mid (C12) engineers in the squad.
• Work with the Principal Architect and FDE team to build automated evaluation suites (task completion, tool call correctness, latency, hallucinations) and enterprise safety guardrails into deployment pipelines.
• Extract common field patterns as reusable agent modules, prompt templates and integration harnesses for core enterprise platforms.
• Assess risk in business decisions with attention to the firm's reputation and to protecting the company, its clients and assets: comply with laws, rules, regulations and Policy, use sound ethical judgment, and escalate and report control issues openly.

Requirements

• 10+ years of professional software engineering experience, including 6+ years in backend or distributed systems.
• 2+ years building and deploying LLM-powered applications in production, with hands-on work in agent frameworks such as LangGraph, AutoGen, CrewAI, Semantic Kernel or ADK, or in custom state-machine reasoning engines.
• Deep expertise in Python, Java or Go, asyncio, state machines, container orchestration with Docker, Kubernetes or OpenShift, relational and NoSQL databases, and Kafka event streaming.
• Proven record integrating enterprise APIs, building secure tool-calling environments and applying zero-trust identity delegation.
• Experience in forward-deployed, customer-facing or embedded engineering roles, turning ambiguous business problems into working software prototypes.
• Strong leadership, mentoring, communication and stakeholder collaboration skills.
• Bachelor's/university degree or equivalent experience; Master's degree preferred.

Conditions

Based in New York, New York, United States, with a full-time base salary range of $176,720.00 - $265,080.00.
