Description

The company is hiring an intermediate-level Java Angular full stack developer to help establish and implement new or revised application systems and programs alongside the Technology team. The role contributes to applications systems analysis and programming work.

This is a full-time position with a salary range of $94,300.00 - $141,500.00.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain Java Spring Boot microservices that support core lending workflows: loan origination, draw management, credit facility processing, and repayment lifecycle management.
  • Build and maintain scalable RESTful APIs that follow enterprise API standards, with proper versioning, error handling, pagination, and security controls across lending platforms.
  • Develop responsive, component-based Angular front ends for operations, credit, and business users, including case management UIs, approval dashboards, and pre-approval screens.
  • Create event-driven microservices on Apache Kafka for real-time communication between services, publishing and consuming approval status events, case lifecycle updates, and draw activity state changes.
  • Deploy, manage, and tune containerized applications on ECS clusters, covering task definitions, service scaling, health monitoring, and environment-specific configuration.
  • Manage source control, branching, pull requests, and CI/CD pipelines in GitHub and GitHub Actions, enforcing code review standards and automated build and test gates.
  • Design and maintain Autosys and cron job scheduling for batch lending operations, including end-of-day position calculations, facility utilization updates, LDS database reconciliation, and automated report generation.
  • Oversee every phase of the software development lifecycle, from analysis through design, construction, testing, and production rollout, and provide operational support to lending business users.
  • Define and enforce security measures across APIs and services, including authentication, authorization, secrets management, and post-implementation review of how the lending system is used.
  • Make sure essential engineering procedures are followed, and help define operating standards, coding guidelines, and development best practices for the team.
  • Make architectural and implementation decisions with sound judgment and limited direct supervision.
  • Assess risk carefully when making business decisions, protecting the firm's reputation and its clients and assets, complying with applicable laws, rules, regulations, and Policy, and escalating, managing, and reporting control issues transparently.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned. The description above is a high-level summary of the work.

Requirements

  • At least 4 years of hands-on software engineering experience, with a strong focus on enterprise-grade Java applications.
  • Proficiency in Java (8, 11, or 17+) and Spring Boot, including Spring MVC, Spring Data JPA, Spring Security, and Spring Cloud.
  • Hands-on experience building and consuming RESTful APIs, with a solid grasp of API design principles, OpenAPI/Swagger documentation, and API gateway integration.
  • Proven experience designing and implementing microservices, including service decomposition, inter-service communication, resilience patterns such as circuit breaker and retry, and distributed tracing.
  • Strong working knowledge of Apache Kafka: producers, consumers, consumer groups, topic configuration, offset management, and event-driven design patterns.
  • Experience developing Angular (v12+) front ends, covering component architecture, reactive forms, RxJS, HTTP interceptors, and state management.
  • Hands-on experience deploying and running applications on AWS ECS clusters, including Fargate and EC2 launch types, task definitions, service auto-scaling, and CloudWatch monitoring.
  • Proficiency with GitHub, including branching strategies (GitFlow or trunk-based), pull request workflows, code reviews, and CI/CD integration through GitHub Actions.
  • Experience configuring and maintaining Autosys job scheduling and/or Linux cron jobs for batch processing in a financial services environment.
  • Experience with relational databases (Oracle, PostgreSQL) and NoSQL stores, with the ability to write optimized SQL and manage schema migrations using Liquibase or Flyway.
  • Familiarity with Docker and container orchestration concepts.
  • Experience working in Agile or Scrum delivery with cross-functional teams.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities under tight deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly to both technical peers and non-technical business stakeholders.
  • Preferred: knowledge of EEMS role-based access control frameworks and approval routing in lending workflows.
  • Preferred: familiarity with ServiceNow, Harness, or Lightspeed CI/CD tooling.
  • Preferred: AWS certifications (Solutions Architect, Developer Associate) or equivalent cloud credentials.
  • Preferred: experience with observability tooling such as Grafana, Elastic/Kibana, or Splunk for monitoring lending platform health.
  • Education: a bachelor's degree or university degree, or equivalent experience.
