Description

The team sits in the corporate processes and IT area of the company's COO board and works on AI, data and platform projects. Its aim is to make the company an autonomous enterprise and to serve as the first customer for its own AI tools.

The unit behind this role manages enterprise master data and product management for it. A subteam there uses AI to automate project and stakeholder work, with project managers and subject matter experts.

The company has served customers for over 50 years across finance, procurement, HR, supply chain and customer experience, and it builds enterprise applications and business AI.

Responsibilities

  • Build and extend web apps, internal tools and AI-based solutions using JavaScript, TypeScript, Java, Python, HTML and CSS, plus APIs.
  • Develop LLM-based applications and AI agents, including agent-to-agent communication and multi-agent workflows.
  • Help tune LLMs, optimise prompts, and evaluate and improve model performance.
  • Connect outside services, APIs and AI models to existing applications.
  • Help with testing, debugging and quality checks.
  • Use Git and current software development practices.
  • Help build dashboards, analytics and reports, for example in Power BI.
  • Turn technical requirements into workable solutions.
  • Own smaller development tasks and work with developers and project teams.

Requirements

  • Be currently enrolled at a university or university of applied sciences, ideally in computer science, informatics, mathematics, science or a related field.
  • Have a solid grasp of software engineering basics and hands-on experience with web development, API integration, and JavaScript, TypeScript, Java, Python or HTML/CSS.
  • Have interest or early experience in generative AI, LLMs, AI agents and multi-agent systems. Familiarity with LLM tuning, prompting, evaluation or RAG applications is a plus.
  • Related IT, software development or SAP experience is preferred.
  • Work independently, in a structured and proactive way, with strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Learn new technologies quickly and show curiosity, adaptability and resilience as priorities change.
  • Speak fluent English. German is preferred.
  • Work from the Walldorf office.

Conditions

This is a part-time working student role alongside your studies, for a student who already has practical technical experience.

The position is based in Walldorf and requires on-site work at the office.

The company is an equal opportunity employer and offers accommodations to applicants with disabilities on request.

Benefits

  • This is a paid working student position in a global, strategic role.
  • You work on real software and AI use cases, with a strong focus on hands-on development, experimentation and ownership.
