Description

The company is headquartered in Austin, TX, with offices in London, Christchurch and Auckland. Wherever you live, you will be matched to the nearest office for onboarding and flown in to meet the whole team at the quarterly Season Openers, with travel and accommodation covered. If you need to move to join, help with relocation costs is available.

The company builds infrastructure that lets anyone fix almost anything, on the view that everything made should be repairable. It applies frontier AI to repair knowledge, starting with the $2tn automotive market.

Its in-house model was built specifically to understand repair. It was trained on more than 1M car models and 1B parts, reads a repair job as an estimator would, maps damage to the exact part you can buy, and shows its reasoning alongside a confidence score. On live jobs, estimators using it reach 98.8% parts-list accuracy, compared with 92.1% on current tools. It runs three products: a repair platform for collision shops, workshops and suppliers, an enterprise layer for deploying the model across customer workflows, and a developer API.

Founded by former Rocket Lab engineers, the company raised a $50m Series B led by DST Global, with participation from Blackbird Ventures, WNDR, Activant Capital, Icehouse Ventures, Square Peg, Airtree and Ecliptic Venture Capital.

This is a product builder role rather than a ticket queue. You own a product area from end to end: talking to customers, shaping the idea, building it, shipping it, measuring it and deciding what comes next. The person who understands the repairer is the person who writes the code, so nothing gets lost in a handoff.

The replacement parts market is among the largest physical markets in the world and one of the least digital, still run on calls, spreadsheets and know-how held by individuals. There is no proven playbook, so you will help define the category.

The model is the core advantage. Its domain focus lets software make sense of parts, vehicles and the messy links between them, which general-purpose models handle poorly. It sits under everything you will build.

The product is shifting from fixed screens to new agent-based experiences for estimators, parts managers, accountants and suppliers. Users state what they need and oversee results while agents do the mechanical steps. Earning trust one area at a time, while each area already delivers value, is central to the role.

AI-assisted development has shortened the path from idea to working software. The team works this way: prototypes in an afternoon, customer feedback within days, and the builder reads the results directly. The company wants someone who already works like this or is clearly moving that way.

Candidates who do not match every item below are still encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

  • Prototype new iterations yourself with AI-assisted and LLM-assisted tools. Keep them fast and disposable, and treat each one as a hypothesis to test with real customers before writing a spec.
  • Ship production code, add instrumentation and watch how people actually use it.
  • Spend time each week where the work happens, learning what estimators, parts managers and others do, where they lose time and what would work better for them.
  • Combine what you observe with the data, and resolve conflicts between them. Use the result to decide what to build next.
  • Set priorities using your area's metrics, and take responsibility for adoption and the value delivered. Explain your reasoning, especially when the answer is no. When something breaks, find the cause, fix it and own the result.
  • Compare product gain with engineering cost together, and look for a cheaper way to reach the same result.
  • Move your area from manual use toward supervised delegation: capture what the user intends, decide where a person stays involved, and build trust step by step so users never lose track of high-stakes work.
  • Keep the experience fast, clear and well considered, and push back when something works technically but feels wrong.
  • Pair with software engineers on harder systems work, and help with shared components, product standards and what good building looks like as the team grows.

Requirements

  • At least roughly 3 years building and shipping production software, including code, with clear accountability for whether features worked.
  • Real habit of spending time with users in their working context, and a record of that shaping what you built.
  • Strong product taste. Experiences should feel effortless to time-pressured, non-technical users in fragmented, high-stakes workflows. Working is not enough.
  • A clear view on agentic product design: how an experience moves from manual use to supervised delegation, and how automation earns trust gradually.
  • You build rapid prototypes yourself, using AI-assisted tools as your first choice for testing an idea.
  • Solid full-stack skills with a frontend focus, backed by production-quality code and sound fundamentals. Deep systems specialism is not required.
  • You weigh product impact against engineering effort and often find a cheaper route to the same result.
  • Good analytical instinct: you define the metric, build the view, interpret it and act without waiting for a data team.
  • You work well with ambiguity and autonomy, and define the problem yourself rather than waiting for a spec.
  • Strong signals we look for:
  • Shipped AI-assisted or agent-driven features in production, especially where a person stays in the loop.
  • Built products for multiple user types, operational work or workflow-heavy B2B.
  • Founder background, or early employee at a startup that scaled significantly.
  • You have stopped or fundamentally changed something you believed in, and can explain why.
  • Bonus:
  • Knowledge of automotive, the parts aftermarket, repair or insurance claims.
  • Marketplace or network experience from the buyer or seller side.
  • Rust, or real willingness to learn it, as it is part of the stack.
