Description

The role is a senior Front End (UI) software engineer position with fullstack responsibilities, sitting within the Technology team and covering applications systems analysis, frontend architecture and fullstack programming.

You will set the architecture for enterprise web applications that need to be scalable, secure and current, guide UI component libraries and design system use, define how APIs and backend services are integrated, and mentor developers through the full delivery lifecycle.

Responsibilities

  • Technical leadership and application development
  • Align application design with the enterprise architecture blueprint, security standards and technology roadmap, drawing on your frontend and fullstack programming expertise.
  • Set and enforce standards covering UI code, component reuse, test automation, debugging, performance profiling and CI/CD deployment, using your deep understanding of system flow.
  • Lead the building of responsive, accessible (WCAG 2.1 AA) and fast web applications with modern frameworks such as React, TypeScript, Next.js or Angular, on enterprise design systems.
  • Lead end-to-end integration by designing, consuming and tuning RESTful APIs, GraphQL endpoints, Backend-for-Frontend layers and microservices built in Node.js, Java/Spring Boot or Python.
  • Work with several management teams, product owners, UX/UI designers and backend engineers so functions connect properly to meet business goals, and define the system changes needed to launch new products and improve processes.
  • Solve high-impact problems and complex projects by carefully examining business processes, system processes, data flows and industry standards.
  • Understand how enterprise architecture, infrastructure, cloud platforms and security work together to support strategic business goals.
  • Analyse critical technical issues in depth and design innovative, resilient solutions.
  • Risk management, governance and controls
  • Assess risk in business and technical decisions, with close attention to the firm's reputation and to protecting the company, its clients and its assets. Drive compliance with laws, rules and regulations and internal policy, use sound ethical judgment, and escalate, manage and report control issues openly.
  • Make sure every user interface and application workflow meets strict enterprise cyber security standards, including SSO, OAuth2/OIDC, XSS and CSRF mitigation, secure session handling and vulnerability remediation.
  • Other job-related duties may be assigned as needed.

Requirements

  • Extensive professional experience in applications development or systems analysis, with proven skill in UI and frontend engineering and in delivering fullstack work.
  • Subject matter expert in at least one core area of modern frontend development, such as the React/TypeScript ecosystem, micro-frontends, design systems or state management, with solid working skill in backend integration using Node.js, Java, Python or REST/GraphQL APIs.
  • Extensive experience analysing software systems and building and designing enterprise web applications.
  • A proven record of delivering complex, high-impact technology projects in an Agile or Scrum setting.
  • Ability to reprioritise quickly and well when business or technical conditions change.
  • Demonstrated technical leadership, project coordination and mentoring.
  • Clear, concise and professional written and verbal communication with both technical and senior executive audiences.
