IT Portfolio Project Manager

Description

The team is looking for an IT Portfolio Project Manager to lead large IT portfolio work, with the role centred on the company's work for European Institutions and other clients.

The team has 600+ people in Belgium on international projects, mainly for the European Institutions market, and the company has over 8,900 professionals across Europe.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage large-scale IT portfolio implementations so they stay aligned with business strategy, drivers and leadership priorities.
• Define, put in place and monitor IT governance processes, procedures, standards and PMO/PPO support frameworks across complex programmes.
• Set project direction at the architecture level, assess technical deliverables, run risk analyses and oversee quality control.
• Make the final call on product priorities, features and business value within agile delivery.
• Organise and run architecture boards, agile sprint ceremonies and cross-functional stakeholder meetings so decisions are clear.
• Coach and mentor project leads and architecture communities, leading portfolio rationalisation and IT cost-optimisation initiatives.
• Work with Enterprise Architects to build business, technical, solution and data models that reflect organisational goals.
• Direct agile project teams, guide business analysts and make sure business stakeholders can accept the product end to end.

Requirements

• A master's degree or equivalent Level 7 EQF (or 5+ years of higher education), plus at least 8 years of IT experience with strong portfolio management expertise.
• At least 6 years of experience defining IT governance, setting up PMOs and tailoring PM or programme methodologies.
• At least 5 years of agile project management and experience with portfolio tools such as MS Project Server, Jira, Confluence and BigPicture.
• At least 3 years of expertise in Enterprise Architecture frameworks (TOGAF, COBIT, Zachman) and modelling tools (ArchiMate, UML, BPMN, ARIS).
• Hands-on experience supervising business analysts, driving Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) and running live product demonstrations.
• Mandatory: two certifications, one in project management (PMP, PRINCE2 or PM²) and one in agile product ownership (CSPO, PSPO, SAFe POPM or equivalent).
• Professional English at B2 level or higher. French at B2 level is a strong advantage.
• CV must be submitted in English.
